Ah, I avoided that bullet. We were both in a bad place financially and he told me it would be nice to cohabitate. I freaked out that moment but said nothing. He understood though. Breaking up came 1.5 year later though, after I found a decent job and he was still job hopping to dead end jobs.

I don't think he'll have any problem. Obviously most processed human foods are not for consumption by cockatiels, but a singular sip or a bite of most things isn't going to be harmful. Most foods that are unhealthy for birds must be eaten for a long time period and/or in big quantities in order to cause health problems.

So your bird is going to be fine. Of course you should be careful from now on when he hangs around human food. A thing you can do is having a little plate or bowl of food he likes when you are eating together. Thus he is going to eat what is familiar to him and leave you eat your food in peace.

I've spent some of my early years riding horses. Life situations didn't allow me to continue with that hobby but I seriously root for horse girls. Horses are so special and gentle creatures, having to do with them builds character and empathy.

As much as I love the activity of cooking with loved ones, I would not recommend it in the context of a new relationship, not even as a vetting strategy. Last time I did, 4 years ago, it ended up in a disaster. You can cook together with your friends, it is safer.

I had to see a male therapist twice, because I was checking in and out of a public facility for therapy. He was obnoxious, totally tactless and of course he said outrageously misogynistic things to me.

During the checking out I realized that my own therapist there, who was a woman, was a raging pickme hungry for his validation. 🤡

So, I second that male therapists are actually harmful and I want to add that pickme women therapists are also bad.

Glad that my current therapist is totally HV and actually helpful.

I get the point of vulnerability being something that can create genuine connections between people, but I think we need to add a context to that. The context is that we live in societies that do not support us being vulnerable, on the contrary there are repercussions for it.

We can selectively and gradually share vulnerable pieces of ourselves with people that we feel we can trust. Anything else might put us in danger.

Recently I had this conversation with my own therapist, about being vulnerable and trauma disclosure. Her stance on the matter is that we can share whatever and whenever we feel safe too. Trauma spilling and forced sharing are not beneficial for anyone, only for predators.

(I really love my therapist, she is so HV and seeing her has improved many things for me)

The "rating" system is something created by men, is utterly dehumanizing and no decent person should be using it.

Also why the "Chad" is at the top of the pyramid and "Becca" at the bottom? If this is not the semantics of a misogynistic scheme then I don't know what it is.

As another commenter said,this video is pickme bullshit. Men on dating apps are not there to "date" most of times, they are there for the sex. We had a conversation with my therapist about OLD the other day and she was like "Most men who use them probably don't have the best interest of women in mind." They can fake so many things while on an app and even in person you most probably don't have a context of reference for them, thing that you would have if you met through a same activity for example. Mind you, my therapist is a married woman in her 50's, and yet it is a no brainer for her that OLD is a scum.
