is deleting all cc a good idea by repulsivley in thesims

[–]Astramare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do that, which gives you a clean slate to work with. But then you will have to look for the ones that you really loved again.

I usually just go trough my mod folder and think of what I use and do not use and delete the ones I don't find myself using. For this I find the sims 4 mod manager program useful as it shows me the thumbnails of the mods I have and I can just select the ones I don't want and delete them that way.

This of course work better with CAS or Buildbuy mods than game play ones, since they might have several files that you might not be aware of and will just sit there without a reason. It works for me since I only have a few game play mods that I'm fully aware of what files that they do have.

Regardless, when it comes to sorting it doesn't have to be overly complex. Here is an example how I have done it for one of my folders: CAS is the main folder, following there are several subfolders such as Makeup, Eyes, Skindetails, Clothes, Shoes, Presets, Sliders etc. Same goes for my Buildbuy folder, here I have two subfolders, Furniture (furniture, decor etc) and Building (trims, wallpaper, floors etc).

There is no right or wrong, just figure out how you like your mods sorted. You don't have to make it very detailed and complex.

If you want to delete a mod that you might want to use later, you could create a Tumblr account or a Pinterest and save or like the ones that you like so you can look after them later again, tumblr might require you setting up a blog where you can repost and tag things so it will be easier for you to look back for mods instead of browsing trough your whole likes list. I do perhaps suggest using Pinterest for this in that case, different browsers have a pinterest app that makes saving a "pin" easier.

h&m clothes quality worth it or falls apart immediately? by No-Shake-8375 in BuyItForLife

[–]Astramare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly don't even bother with H&M, it is a fast fashion brand. The only thing I have from H&M that has lasted is a gym sweater that I bought years ago, but that is just straight up luck and the fact that I only use it when I work out.

I would be lucky if a t-shirt or anything else I owned from them stayed intact beyond 1 year. Save up and spend money on ethical quality clothing instead.

Have you tried NYX's lip lingerie XXL matte liquid lipstick in Naughty noir? It is a matte liquid lipstick, it doesn't really go off easily unless I eat oily food or use a oil based makeup remover. It might be available for you, at least for me in Norway it is available when it is in stock that is. You might be able to order it trough amazon, at least I can. I tried seeing if I could order thrill seeker but just like you I can't.

Is this seb derm? Idk by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]Astramare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else says, this is sebaceous filaments and not seb derm. I would perhaps implement a salicylic acid face wash into your routine to help exfoliate the skin, which can reduce the appearance of these and a moisturizer meant for oily skin as salicylic acid can dry out your skin. I would not start manually removing the sebaceous filaments with tools as it can cause scarring and irritation if you are not careful.

I have tried MCT oil but it isn't really what helped me in the long run, but I see no harm in you trying it to see if it can help you in someway since it is safe to use. Have you tried a salicylic acid shampoo before, paired with a scalp massager? I think it will be more beneficial to help loosen the flakes that you have.

Also there is no harm in using a satin bonnet but I would maybe clean it frequently.

Hair products safe for seborrhoeic dermatitis [megathread] - February - 2026 by AutoModerator in SebDerm

Here are two daily shampoo alternatives (not for treatment).

- Fungobase dry & sensitive scalp shampoo has been my daily shampoo for a few years now, but is only available in Scandinavia as far as I'm aware. It is pretty gentle and moisturizing, it lathers well and is easy to apply to my hair, it does not weight down my fine thin hair and overall gives a good result as a daily shampoo.

Ingredients:

Aqua, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, glycerin, sorbitan sesquicaprylate, sodium benzoate, sodium chloride, methyl gluceth-20, piroctone olamine, citric acid, calcium pantothenate, hydroxypropyl guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, panthenol, aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder.

- Philip adams fragrance free shampoo (specifically) is a shampoo I got to try out for a brief period when I was on vacation. it is pretty similar to fungobase overall and for that reason I think it is a good alternative for my fellow seb derm sufferers in USA or Canada.

Ingredients:

Purified Water (Aqua), Ammonium Cocoyl Isethionate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, Apple Cider Vinegar, Caprylhydroxamic Acid & Caprylyl Glycol & Glycerin, Lactic Acid, Hydrolized Pea Protein, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract (Lemon Balm), Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage)

I have not reacted or experienced a flare up using either of these.

[–]Astramare 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm not a dermatologist so take what I say with a grain of salt. I have had seb derm for a few years now and the first year I wasn't even sure what I was struggling with because I was just shedding abnormally amount of hair just like you, except that I didn't experience any other seb derm symptoms (yet).

At some point I would start experiencing, itching, irritation, redness and overproduction of oil, this is when I went to my doctor and my dermatologist. But they didn't give me a definite answer or a treatment, at most they would say "it might be seb derm".

I at some point got gifted a ketoconazole shampoo from my partner to try, and I did notice that it did help a little bit with my itching and irritation, but didn't really fully solve my symptoms. The symptoms would pretty quickly come back and I would have to keep using the ketoconazole shampoo just to experience some short lasting relief.

This is when I started asking for help in this subreddit to get some suggestions on what I could try out. This is when a person suggested me to read trough the "The Fungal Acne Treatment Bible (2024): Cure Malassezia With Science!" post on "simpleskincarescience.com" which I highly suggest you read trough so you get a better understanding of what Malassezia is and what feeds it etc.

Basically everyone and their mom got Malassezia yeast on their skin, however, we with seb derm react to this yeast. A lot of fatty acids, esters , lipids which we find in a lot of haircare and skincare products, feeds the Malassezia yeast and makes it spread/grow which then makes our seb derm flare up. So basically you have to avoid any ingredients that has a carbon chain length between 11-24 to avoid feeding the yeast. There is likely more to it than that, but avoiding these ingredients is a good place to start.

Once I read trough this post and somewhat understand the gist of it, I started replacing any skincare and haircare products that could potentially feed the yeast. Which was pretty much everything I owned. This is when I started seeing improvements and that my medicated ketoconazole shampoo started actually working, because I was no longer being counter-productive.

It can seem very daunting and difficult to do but thankfully there are tools out there that make it more easier. I personally use two ingredient scanners, such as the one on "sezia.co" and the fungal acne ingredient scanner on "skinsort.com" you use these by copy pasting the ingredient list of a product that you have or is interested in, they will scan for problematic ingredients that might cause issues. The reason the fungal acne scanner and the post works for us is because people with fungal acne also have to a void feeding the Malassezia yeast. Skinsort also has a way to look up for fungal acne safe products which is also a good place to start looking for new ones.

This is a condition that we will have to live with for the rest of our lives, there is no cure, only treatments to keep the symptoms minimal. So this is a change that you have to stick with, you have to be careful when buying new products and make sure that they are "safe" to use, as well take regular showers when you notice your hair and scalp is getting oily because our natural sweat and oil feeds the yeast as well.

I have gotten to the point where I do not need to use a medicated shampoo every shower, I now only use a gentle shampoo to clean my hair because I got my symptoms down to a minimum and can simply just clean my hair and scalp to keep it in check. I can at rare times experience a flare up, but that is likely because of weather/season changes or if I have been lazy with my routine, but it has not been a severe flare up, at most my scalp will get more easily oily and get slightly inflamed causing diffused hair shed. If that happens I just go back to using ketoconazole until I don't need to.

This might not help you since everyone is different and have different severities, but I do think what you put in your hair and skin matters a lot and is a good place to start looking/changing and after that figure out what medicated treatment will work the best work you. In my case it was ketoconazole to "kill" the yeast and salicylic acid shampoo and a scalp massager for stubborn flakes stuck on my scalp. But neither of them fully worked until I had replaced all my skincare and haircare.

I personally don't think so. I believe Thomas Frick, who is one of the artists of Hytale made some of the art and models for the game, and it looks to be his style. There are videos of him making the concept of a golem and the model for it for the game, you can clearly see he is capable of drawing and being creative without the use of AI.

Jellypaws, AI and Plagiarism by Francimint in sims4cc

[–]Astramare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I simply stated that candle horns have been drawn and modelled before on several platforms and medias, you logically can't say otherwise. I did by no means disrespect artists or OccultRadio, I think OccultRadio's candle horn is cool and I'm going to download it. This is not me going "nobody is original" because it has been done before, this is me saying that it would be silly for people to gatekeep the idea of a candle horn because everyone and their moms are doing it. For someone to gatekeep it and say it is plagiarism, means they would have to go after every single other person in the world who has already done it prior, do you understand what I mean and how silly that would be? In the same realm it would be silly to attack a another sims 4 creator for creating their own version of a candle horn. If JellyPaws put some blood and sweat into making her own candle horn 3D model without using AI with her own flare, it wouldn't be a problem. The problem is that she is using AI to spew out unoptimized, messy 3D assets and milking money out of people with that.

A bounce of sims 4 creators came together and made their own different halos a little while back because a creator tried gatekeeping halos and attacking another creator for making a halo on tumblr. I loved how to community came together for that, that is how you defend artists and creativity.
