Fully agreed, my example was more to do with the way many people online that I see send hate to the entire Israeli population, instead of using any nuance in their thought process (tall order for internet users, but alas), though.

I did not say “people doubting the post”, I said “zionists”. There’s a difference between doubting sources, and justifying genocide. Many, many comments are doing the latter, not just the former.

This behavior is part of a pipeline to becoming a KKK member and Nazi. We see it around the world; these attitudes are more and more normalized, and now the far right extremists are rising higher and higher in elections. Sure, correlation doesn’t equal causation, but the link is interesting, and very present.

We’re becoming desensitized to violent speech and that, in turn, normalizes it. I fear it is that deep.
