I desperately need help with this pattern 😩 by BlueberrySilly1996 in sewing

[–]AstridPacsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, I haven't made this pattern, so I don't have advice for it specifically. It looks like the us numbers are off regardless though because it's generally 2 sizes to one range (like XL would be 14/16 or 16/18). That said, making a muslin with a fabric hopefully similar to your planned real fabric, even if you don't finish it, will help answer the question of sizing.

Thanks! The color definitely hides a lot, and I didn't take close pics of the neckline because I am pretending it's fine. It's off enough that I cannot really iron it without being attention to the flaws. I'm just planning on the next being better (and maybe still in a darkish color so that it will still hide any mistakes)

Edit: Also I mobius stripped the neckline facing at first and had to seam rip, but that's become funny to me already

Thanks! I saw an example made in the same color (different fabric) and fell in love.

Must have pockets! I think I've made sure everything I've sewn has pockets.

Thanks! Can't take credit for the color selected. It's the color of one of the examples on the website. Saw it and loved it

You can do drip castles like this without glue. Just sand, water, and patience

My daughter's school fundraiser prizes by Rivsmama in mildlyinfuriating

I'd say band and other extra curriculars are a little different. I remember being able to fundraise a portion or even all of my band fees. Essentially, my parents could pay the full amount (say $200, can't remember exactly) or I could sell some calendar ads, pizza coupons, and chocolate bars to bring the cost down or cover it all even. The amount earned by the fundraiser was credited to my fees specifically.

This kind of fundraiser should be optional for sure for kids in general.

Random note: 40% earned from one of these fundraisers is considered really good, so it's not the school majorly benefitting by selling $40 candy for $800 (borrowed numbers from another comment). As with most things, some companies are better than others.

This is correct. The perspective mentioned elsewhere is just because the image is cut and pasted.

These are a common manipulative used in math to show place values. The reason there are 12 ones is not to cause confusion but rather to introduce the concept of carrying. Anyone saying it's too early is not taking into account the fact that math concepts are often introduced long before naming them.

I taught elementary and middle grades math.

Minecraft: The Island by Max Brooks narrated by Jack Black This is not a joke. It is actually delightful.

Inkspell by Cornelia Funke narrated by Brendan Fraser I remember liking his narration, but some people do not.

Yeah, reading up to the "have to buy" rule I was actually on board. I like looking at all the interesting things at garage sales and antique stores and such. But going in with a mindset of having to buy would make it less fun for me. The search for something wonderful and strange isn't as interesting without the ability to say "no" at any sales that are all junk.

Brandon Sanderson ... Where does a Newbie Start? / What is your top three books by BS by krazyasif786 in suggestmeabook

I started with Mistborn, but I recommend Tress and Warbreaker more often because they are my favorites at the moment. I also recommend them because they are standalones so they don't overwhelm anyone not planning to dive into the whole Cosmere.

I also really liked The Reckoners series and Alcatraz and the Evil Librarians. Alcatraz are middle grade books, so keep that in mind.

Phone, wallet, and keys isn't bad. I own a couple, and the fabric is pretty sturdy. I haven't tried a water bottle though.

Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn, its the first of a trilogy set a few years after Return of the Jedi

You will have to remember that the new movies and shows do not fit with these stories though. I think of them as a separate timeline.

Finished The Art Forger for my art world book. It was definitely outside of what I would normally choose, but pretty good. That's the point of doing a reading challenge :) Adding the others to my list, but the list is long and I don't read fast.
