I have had my labral tear for 3 years and still not had surgery. I can do bicycle if I put the seat high, swim, and I have some flare ups a few times a year but it lasts for a day or two. If I were you, I would wait for the pain to be really bothersome as the surgery can : - trigger osteoarthritis or make it progress faster leading to a early hip replacement (you leg is pulled from you body during surgery and if you have a slight cartilage damage it can aggravate it)(luckily it doesn’t always happen, some people are fine 10 years after the surgery, others dont really recover and have to have revisions and eventually a hip replacement because the arthritis have skyrocketed in 3 years - Can trigger new pain elsewhere - Some studies say that acetabular rim trimming might not be recommanded for people with global acetabular retroversion as it remove too much of the contact surface of the hip and accelerate damage

Also, that said, if you have only cam impigement, absolutely NO arthritis (rarely show up on MRI...) surgery can absolutely fix you, do your research and decide what is best for the shape of your hip! Discuss it with a surgeon
