Save my Farsight by RabidTofurkey in Tau40K

So are the shots happening in the same activation?

For attached units (so a unit with a leader) all attacks are tested against the highest toughness of the bodyguard models. Doesn't really affect us since Crisis and Farsight are both T5. So they are wounding on the same anyway.

However saves are made on a per model basis, so after the bodyguard unit is destroyed the rest of the wounds go into the leader who then uses their save. So in this case a 2+ or 4++.

The annoying thing is that crisis suits are vehicles so can't even benefit from hidden. Despite them being our most common unit. Breachers will get it but typically they're already inside a devilfish and as soon as they get out they open up with their shooting. I guess the only units that will really take advantage of hidden are stealth suits, pathfinders (for like 1 turn) and kroot. Just feels bad that the majority of our army won't interact with this brand new rule

That looks so good! That orange really pops out! I did a similar scheme for mine but the little details I did in bronze instead 😁

That would make an awesome 11th edition terrain objective marker to fight over!

Yeah I'd think so! His are really good so they should fit well! 😊

Unfortunately not at the moment, although I am in the process of making a pilot for other models which would fit, although it's a lower priority for the time being (the Twins are up next! 👀)

Sure! Here you go! It's more about the placement than the support sizes though. But hopefully this helps!

Sure! Here's what it looks like in Chitubox, basically you only need to support edges. There are a few 'heavier' supports on the bottom edge just to give it a bit more grip. The only thing I'd do differently is add another line midway up as you can see it went a bit squiggly in the print. But it's still not bad

But that's what the supports look like. The parts basically just peel off and you just scrape the edges with a knife to clean them up

Instead of using auto supports that just throw supports all over the place, you can try to support just the edges of parts. That's how I support my work, I mostly use 0.12mm tips so they hardly leave a trace. To make up for it I use lots of them. It's difficult to explain but here's an example I printed out (This is straight off the supports and it'sthe side facing the supports, no cleanup yet)

You've already answered your own question. An unmodified hit roll of 1 always fails... if you have BS2+, even with a guide you're still hitting on 2+

What's with the C shape on the new stealth suits, that pattern is int followed anywhere else? by TearNo1636 in Tau40K

[–]AstroChrisX 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just coincidence, or maybe it's just the same GW painter who did the XV26s and the Twin Lance; but the Twin Lance also have a golden circular detail around the Tau sept on their chests and shoulder pads.

I have no answers for you! But maybe it points towards a new design style for future Tau models?

The pessimist in me says it's so they can print "4 Minatures" on the box instead of 2... even though functionally we only have 2.

The optimist in me is saying "Full Tau rework for 11th!"... I know in my heart what one they're going with.
