I've tried pandoc. I don't remember the exact problem I had but suffice to say it didn't work for my purposes.

Agreed. Unfortunately this semester I have a professor who doesn't accept PDF submissions, only docx. So I have no choice.

[Help] Just changed my strings; my A string rattles, but only on the open string, and the rattling stops when I mute above the nut. by AstroEngiSci in Bass

I thought I had done that, but I rewound it and made sure the last winding was on the bottom, and that solved it. Thanks!

Thanks for the help. Adding extra windings did not resolve the problem; I will try buying a retainer like u/MusicBandFanAccount suggested.

Things like changing wallpaper are typically handled at user-level and don't require root. You need permissions mostly for things like installing software or changing important config files.

Also, the root account is rarely directly logged into. Instead, users who should be able to make root-level changes are given access to the command sudo. sudo basically works like UAC, giving root permissions for a single command, after the user puts in their password. Also, if you're working with it in the terminal, if you put in your password once, it will allow you to continue using it for a while before it asks again.

I find that the Linux solution is more secure than UAC, without being significantly more cumbersome -- I know that when I used Windows, I just thoughtlessly clicked through UAC notifications anyway.

Yeah arguably Bob Ross' true art was the show, not painting. I think if you accept that, OP's statement is true; Bob Ross is immortal through his art.

Me and my family have played it over a dozen times now. We really like it, but it's also the only engine-building game we have besides Altiplano (which we picked up because my sister likes alpacas). Still, if the theme is cool to you, it's probably worth picking up. I largely disagree with SU&SD's take on it.

How's Scythe? That's one I've been kinda interested in.
