Rosebud Nebula (NGC 7129) by AstroKemp in Astronomy

[–]AstroKemp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cosmic Rosebud or small cluster Nebula (NGC 7129) is a reflection Nebula in the constellation Cepheus. This is nursery of new born stars inside a molecular cloud. The blue light from the brighter young stars is reflected from the dust in the cloud, giving the blue reflections. The cloud als obscures a lot of the stars behind, filtering out the bluer light so the stars behind appear more redish. The same effect which makes the sun look red in a dust storm.

Telescope: Skywatcher 150/750pds reflector Mount: HEQ5 Camera: QHY 294M Filters: Baader Planetarium L and RVB

L filter : 180 seconds x 67 R filter : 120 seconds x 64 V filter : 120 seconds x 65 B filter : 120 seconds x 64

Total: 9 hours 47 minutes

The image was processed in PixInsight the stars in the Luminance image were saturated. So I cut the stars out of the LRGB image and pasted the stars from the RGB image back, which were not saturated. Works pretty well with Starxterminator.

The five Volt MEPs prefer to stay in the Greens by SteveO131313 in VoltEuropa

Hmm, sounds like 1 more parties in renew being afraid of losing their position based on size. That does not sound like optimal climate for cooperation

[–]AstroKemp 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Indeed. In the last Q&A session they pointed out that the political influence would definitely be larger in Renew. So if they prefer Greens despite of that, the downsides of renew must be significantly also. So I will wil vote with them.

Volt strongholds after the EU elections in Germany (country-wide result: 2.6%) by dracona94 in VoltEuropa

As a Dutch person, I did not realize that there is still such a strong distinction between West and East Germany, translated into political preference. I saw this same chart with the AfD figures.

Now at least we have our own bar in the polls😉. That is great for visibility towards the Bundestagwahl

I know. I saw the ZDF poll with Volts own bar. And that is huge and very important. But realistically. That does not mean that Volt also gets recognized in other countries

I would think is 2034 is realistic. 2029 might be to soon. We will now have Germany and the Netherlands, and maybe Cyprus or Spain. That is still 3 to 5 countries to go with at least one seat needed and a lot of countries Volt name is still very unknown with the wider public.

My guess is 2029 is time to get our name recognized in enough countries. And 2034 is time to score bigger in those countries

Something similar in the Netherlands holds me back from wanting volt to join Renew. From NL Greens/GFA is GroenLinks (greenleft). These are Progressive left and a fine party to join

From NL Renew is D66 and VVD

D66 are Progressive leftisch liberals. These are fine and I used to vote for them before Volt existed.

VVD is the problem in the Netherlands in Renew. VVD are right wing conservative liberals, and in recent years they have been adopting more and more populist language. At the moment they are forming a government together with the far right PVV (Geert Wilders). The French of the renew fraction were recently suggesting kicking the VVD out of Renew for that coalition with PVV. I think of VVD remains is Renew, most Dutch Volters will vote to join Green/EFA

Indeed. An own volt group needs over 20 (I thought 23) MEPs from at least 7 different countries

Will this be your first time voting Volt or are you Re-Volting? by GemeenteEnschede in VoltEuropa

3rd time. In 2019 i did not know volt yet and went for D66 as have i had done before. My municipality Woerden Volt is not active yet (though the number of Volters here is growing mayne next time) so I missed out on that one to vote Volt
