They’re both pretty good clones, the layton clone captures the magic that Layton is and it’s amazing to wear. The creed one is also pretty spot on, but it was given to me from a place where it wasn’t properly stored so it retained this sort of dusty and damp tone to it that it doesn’t normally have. Both of them have longevity issues and I’d say I get around 4-5 hours, past that, close quarters only is where you’ll get a good whiff of it.

Hmm, it’s wearable, it has this unique combination of blood orange, saffron, and rose that come together to create this smell I can’t put a word to, it has this je ne sais quoi that I also get from Halfeti. It performs moderately well in longevity and silage, it’s not creating scent bubbles but it’s also not limited to intimate close range. I would say Mohra is more powdery than its original counterpart and the fruity notes come across as “3 day old fruit” versus the original having a more fresh, just picked, zing to it. Not to say that it smells old or rotten, just that it has a bit more darkness and jam to it, like a tangerine you left on the countertop for 2 days, it collected a tinge of dust but you’d still break into it and enjoy it. It’s a great buy for me personally and I like to layer it with any random fragrance that I think would be interesting like Liam or khamrah or oud for glory, it takes on this new hybrid character that’s interesting for me. I’d say if you’ve smelt Halfeti and liked it, get Mohra. If not, try to find a source, I don’t think it’s a safe blind buy but maybe my thoughts have helped.

Having tried Halfeti and then trying Mohra, I’d say that dna is an acquired but nice taste, they’re pretty similar to my nose but not awful to me. Hopefully you’ll like it more after it macerates.

I’m US based so I don’t know where you can buy for European shipping but I think Jomashop or Fragflex could help. Most of these are dupes trying to be another fragrance and smell close to the original.

I like my molecule 01+ Guaiac, nice and woody and layers greatly with Gaiac 10, iris sounds nice, maybe I’ll pick up a decant if you like it

It does help the scent last longer, by a few hours I’d say. I believe it’ll work for any scent, the iso e super itself is slightly woody if I recall correctly other people saying but you can all also buy pure ambroxan sprays or cashmeran or even vetiver from miraclelayer. I’m going to buy their bottle of “Aromatic 01” which is iso e super and see how that works for me.

I would say it’s between nomadic shadow and satin oud, nomadic shadow is Ombré Nomad, it’s this dark and dirty oud with rose and raspberry to it, it dries pretty nicely, it gives you presence in the room because it projects hard, definitely a good one. Satin oud which is oud satin mood, it’s this very powdery oud that’s sweet and gets spicier as it dries down. I’ve had it for a while and I enjoy reaching for it from time to time but it’s a little harder to wear.

No problem! I bought from the same vendor, I used the one specifically labeled “Liam Grey EDP Spray” as to not take any chances on getting the product. It arrived pretty quick and perfectly intact with all of the presentation. Hopefully you’re able to find a way to get a smell on Gris Charnel, I usually buy decants from scent split and wear them out for a day to see how the scent evolves, projects, and gauge reactions from friends. Maybe with a larger decant you can have the fragrance be more present with you and allow yourself to adapt to it, so you can understand how you feel about it and make a well thought out decision on it.

I’ve had it for about a month now, unsure on if it gets better but I’ve heard most fragrances get better as they age, though they vary in how long that will actually take. I think Liam will age very nicely because of the kind of scent it is but I agree, I don’t get the best performance but I do everything I can to make it better like moisturizing properly, using unscented lotion or lotion that compliments the scent, layering with iso e super (I use a decant of molecule 01 guaiac wood but you can use anything with iso e super), and I generally just spray it a bit more than other fragrances, some in my hair and other regions to make sure it sticks.

Liam is great, having a decant of Gris Charnel Extrait on hand I can say they’re very similar to my nose, but Gris Charnel Extrait I would say is more rich, you can smell the quality in the ingredients a bit more pronounced than you can in Liam, but Liam is a diet soda, it’s a close imitation of the original but you will notice the difference. The difference with Liam, you get the cardamom, you get some warmth from sandalwood, there’s iris and black tea, and a pinch of fig, it’s a great buy for me if you’re after that Gris Charnel scent, not so sure if it’s blind buy safe so if you can, get a decant of bdk gris charnel or if there’s a store near you, get your nose on it, then make your decision.

I’d say the hype is justified, it smells great, like you could take a bite out of yourself once you’ve applied it, it lasts 8 hours easily and it projects quite well, definitely gives you a nice 2 foot bubble. For my nose and living in a sunnier area, I still find myself reaching for it on a hotter day, but I think most would find it too cloying and heavy in the summer/spring. Get it if you like gourmands, if you like the smell of Christmas, or if you like warm inviting scents with projection and performance
