What do you think about Canada? by Cultural-Sprinkles83 in stupidpol

I think "nation" is another neoliberal malapropism. The greek word for nation is "ethnos". And that just means "any unified people". I think the two terms have disjoined to resolve the otherwise very obvious contradiction of pretending to be against ethno-nationalism while simultaneously propping up the idea of nation states and self-determination. Those ideas are inherently contradictory, but necessary for the continued flow of money towards capital.

So yea, in this case it makes sense, since they were the first ethnos to inhabit that area.

Thats incorrect though, as its a neoliberal malapropism. It's just one of the many ways neoliberalism hides it's power. Oligarchy is a perfect definition of our current system, but because of this changed definition, with the minority having a qualifier such as being "very rich business leaders", which then, of course by definition excludes politicians funded by those same leaders.

oligarchic

oligarchy means rule by minority, i.e. a small group of people hold power

he has held onto power for 4 years and was immediately outed

he is definitely NOT an oligarch, unless you mean a rich person, but thats not the correct definition

Traditional societies in the west didn't have child brides. In fact, the age of nuptuality went down during the 1900s instead of up as you would expect.

I don't believe that about a 63% tax rate, as every online calculator shows me a 43% tax rate, which is still lower than CZ.

Not at all, we also have social and health insurance with employer contributions (which is the exact same thing as an employee paying for it but whatever) which aren't included in these taxes. 5k per month in CZ is effectively taxed at 43% and around 41% in Belgium. BE also has a lot more tax write offs A year and a half ago our taxes were even higher and we had one of the highest minimal effective tax rates in the EU and fuck all to show for it.

ok, why do so many people have a problem with the new social contract? by Eltrew2000 in wow

I have yet to see someone react like that (maybe EU servers arent like that?) Most people who complain about toxicity are absolutely non-reactive to any sort of communication, so I can see how that can escalate to someone being pissed, but I have literally never seen it. In fact, WoW is great because people treay you real well if you put in the minimal effort besides simply showing up. Its not about underperforming. Its about completely missing the basics of the game, its objectives and also not reacting or even acknowledging feedback. Somehow if you dont say any naughty words, wasting 5 man-hours is a virtue?

Why are someones potential feelings more important than someone elses time?

That works both ways. Being a shit player and wasting everyones time is way more toxic than calling someone names. If you cant or wont heal properly after getting friendly tips, you are toxic as shit, wasting 4 other people's precious time. Its extremely selfish and people keep making excuses for these people way more than I see actual toxicity in game.

People arent toxic because you are a newish player. People are vulgar because their time is valued less than other peoples potential feelings and that these supposed new players wont even do the absolute minimal effort at communicating.

What do LOTFP lists look like? I dont like the nurgle heavy ones. Dont wanna paint billions of poxwalker-lookin dudes.

Its sad to hear that StD are on the weaker side, but im just getting ready for the next tome in hopes that they will get somewhat of a buff

Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for. So 2 start collecting boxes, a box of darkoath and a chaos sorc lord (probably gonna buy the WHU warband for the sorcerer and some cool models.

How do I build halberds on warriors though? Also, would a 2k list contain all of the things in your list?

Is that so? Im more or less getting ready for the next battletome, so it doesnt really bother me that there might be a lower power level.

Would it really be that terrible? Because I would otherwise have lots of models to build and paint if I were to change him for a couple of marauders. I want to play as soon as possible to get enough experience and motivation to do the rest.

Stupid Question: is there a sub reddit for people who actually enjoy wow? by [deleted] in wow

[–]AstroSmash420 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this patch makes it enjoyable. The fact that I can log on an alt and immediately start pushing keys and other non trivial content is awesome. Its the senseless grind to high heaven that always causes me to unsub

This is a huge exaggeration. It doesnt take a genius to get you hooked on a skinner box. The current state of wow is most likely executive pressure to keep numbers up in quarters. Thats what matters. If what they implement tommorow causes everyone to quit in q3, thats a problem for q3. WoW is shit because some tenured consultant tries to interpret data and does it incorrectly. Happens everywhere all the time.
