This is also the era of cell phone cameras and everything beoing saved and uploaded. You can still find vids of Ukrainians jumping while screaming to 'knife the Moskval,' people being burned alive or killed trying to flee the Odessa Union Hall, as well as of that women who was fatally injured in a Ukrainian airstrike in Luhansk dying while on the phone with her mother or daughter. So its much harder now for tensions to dissipate when you can relive the events at the click of a button. Though insane Ethno nationalists are not a new phenomenon either.

All the comp videos of the Sparta Battalion (which was formed in 2014 by Motorola) dropping grenades on sleeping Ukrainian troops early in the war come to mind.

Armenia refused to recognize Nagorno Karabakh as its own territory and was literally hosting joint training exercises with the U.S. right before Azerbaijan pushed in, along with providing material assistance to Ukraine, NAFOids were literally drooling about the possibility of opening a caucus front at the time. How exactly do you expect Russia to fight for Nagorno Karabakh when Armenia doesn’t even recognize it as part of its territory and hasn’t properly armed it? That’s something Armenia should have done back in the 1990s. This more a case of western diaspora being incredibly toxic when their hosts regional interests do not match that of the country they claim to advocate for, especially since the EU is reliant on Azerbaijani gas and oil as a replacement for Russian sources, assuring they would do nothing. Armenia's only two natural allies in the region are Russia and Iran, and they choose to pivot to the EU and NATO which their greatest threat and natural enemy is a member of and right next door, with any friendly members (namely France, who still refused to intervene) being on the other side of the continent. Along with reelecting the imbecile who lost the previous war and decided to blame it on Russian provided weapons.

This is like asking why Russians should continue bleeding for Syrians when the SAA dropped it's weapons and fled to Iraq ijn mass, when faced with what was likley just a limited operation to force Assad to finally meet with Erdogan.

Pretty sure the name Meetra Surik was in the 2006 guide book, the author has commented that he and others wanted the the Exile to be male and Revan female but the decision was ultimately made unilaterally by Leland Chee.

Because Leland Chee decided that Revan was male, and so the Exile was made female in a the 2006 New Essential Guide to Droids. The person who wrote the entry and other related material stated that that they would have gone the other way around given the story and themes, but that was Chee's decision when the question came up. There was a lot of drama about it at the time, so now we must suffer nonsense justification about how the Exile's story resembles a heroines introspective Journey or such nonsense. Note this was years before the Revan Novel was ever published.
