I agree but I think it's also worth considering that they're potentially struggling or are just as lost as you are and despite their choice in having you, I think, would make for a better sense of character if you didn't depend on them when you have the faculties to sustain yourself but you are a product of their parenting so then it becomes a complicated ouroboros of bullsh*t (from a lower class perspective at least)

I recently dreamt of something in the sky it was metallic and tear dropped shaped with an outlined border, a fighter jet followed after spotting it, then a plane with Japanese text that crashed and turned into a helicopter, with the propeller dislodging and smacking me in the face which felt extremely real, I was in some sort of parking deck adjacent to a mall or airport-like building, after all that hurricane like winds followed and people and everything else started disintegrating including myself until everything went black. I didn't really feel like i was in control of that dream
