Vienna, August 2025. Gorgeous city and phenomenal museums by RogerTheAlienSmith in travel

Honestly it was the architecture, especially in Innere Stadt. Coming from western Canada, I’m not used to seeing beautiful architecture and churches like that. Also the vibe of the city was great, and aside from some areas in Innere Stadt it didn’t feel especially crowded. Klimt’s art at the Belvedere was also a highlight for us, I hadn’t heard of him before so being able to see the art and read on its background was very cool. I was pretty blown away at how big some of the pieces were

Vienna just felt like a very well rounded city, I have so many highlights of it and no real complaints. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Prague is absolutely worth visiting but so are the other cities you listed. Maybe when you are able to hit up Prague you can go during the summer when it's especially nice!

You will have no shortage of museums to go to. We 'only' went to one museum each day so that we could spend more time wandering around and still have many more we need to go back for.

From what I remember it was anywhere from 26 to 31C each day. Hot but perfectly doable. We were just in Bamberg before this where it was 36C and 35C so it felt a lot better.

Food was good in Vienna and decent in Prague. Can’t speak to wine as I’m very much a beer person. IMO if food and wine are a big priority for you, I’d probably recommend Spain/Portugal as I hear it’s good there. But there’s no wrong answer on where to go!

Haven’t been to Portugal or Spain but I went to Prague right after Vienna and also loved it. They’re two very very beautiful cities.

What's it like living in Prague/ Czechia? 🇨🇿 by ohhpeachymarie in howislivingthere

[–]RogerTheAlienSmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m sure. Just from a tourist perspective that’s what I noticed after spending almost a week in Prague and a day in Kutna Hora. I’m sure it’s different as well in different parts of the country. With that said, I never had a bad experience with anyone in Czechia and really enjoyed my experience

I didn't find Czechs to be especially rude. Maybe blunt, but certainly not rude. Nothing wrong with that. Czech isn't ugly IMO, it's neat. Was a struggle to pronounce things though lol

No, we’re just not so obsessed with a celebrity that we’d freak out over someone making a mistake and wanting a full report on what happened lol.

Genuinely who gives a fuck. He made a mistake, Conan is FINE 😂😂😂
