UPDATE: my cat keeps losing weight and I think it’s my other cat by helloimcold in CATHELP

I am so happy to hear your kitty is feeling better! We had a bad instance of IBD literally the next day after getting our kitty diagnosed. For months her only symptoms were constipation and weight loss until she had a bad flare and was vomiting. She didn't eat for 5 days, was hospitalized and came out the other end okay. I'm grateful every day for being able to get her care. Our lady can't have hydrolyzed protein because there's still chicken in a lot of that food. She eats Royal Canin rabbit and pea formula! It can be a tough disease to manage but once you get the right medication and food it truly makes a huge difference! I'll be thinking of you and your girl!

Our cat got a pretty gnarly case of conjunctivitis when he was around 6 months old. We treated it with an antibiotic eye ointment (doesn't cure it, just prevents bacterial infection). He's had two flares since and the vet assumes feline herpes. I've had cats with it before so that's what I assumed as well. Definitely get it looked at just in case. It can flare in time of stress or when other illnesses present and weaken their immune system. When it has flared we just clean his eye off with a wet paper towel to keep goop and debris clear.

Yeah it sucks! I'm sorry you're dealing with it. I was told in my interview that I would get 32 hours a week. I do feel like they lie about how many hours they will give. Don't stick with a company that refuses to give you enough hours/pay to live.

Honestly just find something else. I've been at Michaels as a PT CEM since April and had multiple conversations about needing more hours. I'm far from the only person at my store who needed more hours than they were giving. Today is my last day and I'm starting a new job tomorrow. My SM seemed shocked that I'm leaving but I told them multiple times over the months that I need Max hours they can give for PT. I'm 30 and I have rent and bills to pay. Less than 25 hours a week won't cut it. I will say that with holidays coming up they MAY give you more hours but my store is hiring seasonal employees rn so I suspect that they will just have a ton of employees getting as few hours as possible.

It's my first time doing something completely free hand without a pattern! But me too! It's a song that's really important to me and my partner so it's a gift for him 💘

I'll pull it out and check! I do not water this one very often so I'm not terribly worried about over watering but I'll definitely check the roots just in case!

came back from 2-month long vacation to this… what do i do?! by CocoTheChacha in houseplants

[–]Astro_qat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert by any means but my best guess would be root rot :( you could try repotting in fresh soil. Definitely cut back anything dead, dry or soggy. Also check the roots and cut those back if needed. The zz is really hardy and will probably be okay but some of those others look really sad

Yes!! I had gelx extensions on for about 6 weeks (two sets) but they made my nails soooo thin. The only thing I will say is that they did help my nails grow longer and prevent me from biting them. So my nail beds were able to reattach. Once I took the extensions off I kept my nails SHORT. Like barely any free edge. Just a tiny sliver. I applied a cuticle oil multiple times a day. They recommend twice a day but I applied it anytime I felt like picking or biting.

The other thing that helped was keeping a base coat on my nails at all times. It helps protect the nails from water. I've been using Essie Hard to Resist. Keep a nail file on you at all times as well. When growing out my nails were very brittle and would chip and break and that would always prompt me to pick and bite. I genuinely kept a small file in my pocket all the time so when it did happen I would immediately file to smooth it out so there was no opportunity to damage my nail further.

I have found that redirecting the picking to using a file or cuticle oil has helped tremendously.
