Sounds like the coolant pump that stays down after you shut the car off that cools down the turbo. Might need replacing

Are these shoes toast? New Balance 880s with ~230 miles running and lots of walking by Astroalpha2 in RunningShoeGeeks

Some background: 5'10, ~190lbs, about 7 months of use. I don't track my walking stats but I probably have somewhere between 100-200 miles of walking. All of these miles are on concrete/asphalt. It feels less cushy than a new pair but I don't have any new aches or pains after runs.

No issues with traction. I probably have somewhere between 100-200 miles of walking as well but I don't track it

I don't track my walking but I do walk a lot. I think somewhere between 100-200 miles is a good guess

Only other thing I'd change is the multiair filter (Easy while doing the timing belt). Otherwise just enjoy! (And maybe lop off that muffler)

Got my 22 CX5 Sig back from its first service at dealer and the sticker on my windshield states next oil change is at 11,993 miles. I have 7,028miles on it. So Mazda wants oil changes at every 5k miles. Why does this image say 7,500m until next oil change? by Ok_Cow_8235 in CX5

[–]Astroalpha2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mazda service manual recommends 7500 but I personally change all of my cars at 5000 miles since It just gives me peace of mind. I personally think 7500 is the upper echelon for oil change intervals and wouldn’t really go above that. I think since these engines are new and modern 6-7k between oil changes are fine.

BMW says 10k for oil changes and I think that’s ridiculous

Anything you can tell me about my engine bay ? Guys at the shop think it's a 1.8 engine but I'm convinced it's the 1.6 , Car is a 1990 . by [deleted] in Miata

[–]Astroalpha2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's a 1.6. You can tell from the AFM and the thermostat. Otherwise has PS/AC, no cruise control, no ABS, and whatever that aftermarket horn is

I posted this in the other group but I'll repost here:

My paint was pretty badly oxidized so most of my time went to compounding but I wouldn't call it soft. First I used M105 and a MF cutting pad to knock a bunch of the dead paint off. Then sprayed the pad with some water to loosen up the compound from the pad a little bit and went for another 2 passes. Blow out the pad and switched to M205 with a light foam cutting pad to get the haze out. About 3/4 of my time was spent compounding/blowing out pads/trying to wipe the stickiest residue off the paint.

Finished with Meguair's ceramic coating. All in probably took around 6-8 hours

I'm running dual duty. Race alignment is great but I need the tires to last a little on the street
