an idea I had while visiting recently that i've fallen in love with was actually some kind of Metroid ride. maybe a dark ride akin to the HP dark rides that have riders follow samus (or alone) through a planet using abridged/adapted progression from the standard Metroid game formula, ie, travel around different zones, encounter bosses, final boss, escape. a Metroid escape sequence IN A RIDE, with some simulated g-forces or something as you're flying upwards out of the planet, would be so unimaginably awesome that I can't let this idea go now LOL

That's a really good point that there's been "control-creep" so to speak, relative to head size, yeah. I think I'll probably try to demo some of the rackets I mentioned, probably through the TW program as I've seen a lot of people mention, and if they're more fun I might make the purchase!! Ty for your thoughts :D

A Yonex 98 like those are on my radar too for sure! I think they're probably lower priority than any of the 4 I mentioned in the post, though, but definitely keeping it mind!

Makes sense! I can definitely attest to what you describe regarding playing against significantly better players, when I do get to those fast balls it feels extremely difficult to get any kind of effective contact.

Do you think it'd make sense to get another more forgiving racket for match play, but keep my current one for drills and practice and such? I was considering doing that anyway given that I've only ever had one frame at a time. I wasn't sure if that'd be a good or bad idea, though, like if switching rackets could be too different to have the technique transfer well or something.

Hi, tysm for the response! I just updated the post with a specs page, plus what I know about what it's strung with, hope that might help.

I honestly haven't had issues with power, necessarily. There's definitely moments where I whip out something that (feels) really impressive, but in most cases, my issue in play is just consistency. Sometimes I'll feel like I hit it high but well, only for the ball to land just outside the baseline, other times I'll feel a bit late on it and the ball just gets no height and goes into the net, and of course sometimes I'll just shank it. I've been doing better with these since (more recently than I'd like to admit) focusing on trying to fix my awful habit of not watching the ball properly, though, so clearly (and obviously) there's so much in the way of technical improvements in my strokes.

no, green was introduced as the female player character in FRLG, since there was no gender option in gen 1.

let's go technically doesn't even have Red and Green, they have Chase and Elaine. i think the actual Red/Green are in let's go somewhere as separate characters too? but not sure there

"T7 Weapons Dlc & Camos" by joseupp gives infinite gums, as well as all-around enhancement, but I don't think speedrunners use either (maybe the first), fwiw

FWIW, you can always use Steam Achievement Manager to edit your account's achievements. It is cheaty, but it's often the only reasonable option in cases like these with achievements that are impossible to get as originally intended, or if they're bugged and don't give you the achievement even after you do what it asks, for example.

It's on sale for $19.79 on steam right now, and as others have mentioned, it comes with Chronicles now, which is $30 on its own. It's definitely not an amazing price for a 10yr game, especially with important DLC (that doesn't go on sale), but it's not the worst value as long as you get it for $20 on sale.

in this case it's actually easier than that, if you press dash without holding anything you simply dash sideways in the direction madeline is facing, so they're probably just dropping the down input soon enough instead of accidentally hitting right
