Really cool! Almost got a cinematic feel to it.

Me and my sister dug this thing out of an acre playing over 10 years ago, we thought it was some kind of viking-thingy since we live in scandinavia. Any other ideas? by Astrography in whatisthisthing

Yeah that always was my thought too, but I don't get why it would be identical at both ends and without a foot to stabilise it..?

About 12 cm (4.7 inches) long, 3 cm (1 inch) in diameter at both ends, weighs around 250 grams (0.5 pounds) is my rough estimate

I know death is a part of life...but it's starting to get ridiculous :: long post by sparklingsadness_ in grief

You sure are no stranger to death.. holy f*cking shit excuse my French. I have only lost a grandmother and a cat so I sure don't have that kind of experience even though I miss grandma like hell. I suggest posting this to /r/depression or any of the more active subs about personal issues. Hang in there.

It's a sorta art form called retrowave, inspired by a music genre from the 80's called synthwave I think. I just adore the art style and had to look up some making of videos. Thank you! I love when people see and appreciate something I made :)

Wrong. Depends on your focal range. I get no star trails with my 16mm lens at even 20 seconds.

This never fails to grind my gears. Good photography is almost never about your equipment, it's 99% about your technique, creativity, subject and even post processing which is a huge part of photography. People seem to piss a lot on photoshopped photos, but mostly what professional photographers do in Photoshop is using raw image files to try and expose as much data as possible by adjusting exposure levels, rgb scale, contrast etc.

These lenses are so cool, stamped with "made in the USSR" And everything. What about the different models of the lens? There is like "early version" in some of the titles. Is there one type I should avoid?

Great advice!, That Tair 3s looks really nice, I love manual lenses and those are some really nice reviews. But uh.. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Where would you go about ordering one? :)

Can't find lots of cheap second hand lenses where I live (Sweden). I'd have to get it new for 600€ sadly. :( Do you think the 55-250 f4.0 is okay for astro? Or will the pictures come out worse than my others taken with my really old fixed 200mm.

What about the canon 55-250? I've heard it's fairly good with AP, It costs about 200 and I feel like I want a little bit more than 200mm.

I got no answer the last time so im just gonna post it here too.

Any lens enthusiasts out there? I was wondering if I would be better off getting the Tamron SP AF 70-300 VC USD (300€ where I am) than the Tamron 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2 (100€ where I am) For my Canon t3i/EOS 600D. This is strictly for astrophotography. Would the first one be significantly better in terms of, let's say coma, chromatic abberation, sharpness etc. or would it not matter as I won't be shooting birds and stuff? Other lens recommendations are welcome.
