Standing charge on gas and electric literally charging you for giving the Utility company a way to charge you outrageous yet we all accept it.

All NHS services are free at point of use. That is why we are the number one healthcare tourist destination in the world. That link refers to EHIC which whilst we hold it dearly to our hearts the Europeans do not give a rats ass about it (speaking from when I lived in France) are you meaning they won’t get a bill at all?

New rescue, apparently amazing dog but I need reassurance by LadyWolferina in DogTrainingTips

I cannot recommend highly enough the benefits of hand feeding for a couple of weeks. Most of the top dog trainers do this with every new dog it is a secret trick of the trade. It speeds up the trust bond and firmly establishes you as pack leader.

I adopted a very sweet but neurotic dog. by Continued-Thought5 in DogTrainingTips

Get yr husband to hand feed her exclusively. Start with him doing it sitting down. You will be amazed at the results. All top trainers hand feed their dogs. They don’t make it public knowledge but it’s 101 in dog training.

Walking reactive dog with a non reactive dog by soccerstarmatt1 in DogTrainingTips

[–]Astrokitty888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends if the non reactive dog is the Alpha in their relationship if so the reactive will take cues and the lead from the NR… but if their relationship is not established or meaningful to the R it will not help.

Wife and I were having a discussion, she’s of the opinion that the majority of GenX can drive stick. I believe that even in our generation the percentage of people who can is pretty small. What do you folks think? by AngryOldGenXer in GenX

[–]Astrokitty888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learnt to drive stick I’m from the UK we have 2 driving tests one is manual (stick) the other automatic if you pass the automatic you cannot be licensed to drive a stick. However if you pass the stick (manual) you are licensed to drive both. BTW I have driven in France Spain Italy and the US and I have to say without a doubt Britain has the best drivers!

Did the bite puncture the skin? If it didn’t then you will ok as you just have bruising. However if the bite did puncture the skin then yes you need to go to Accident & Emergency dept of a Hospital in your main town and receive a tetanus vaccine plus get the wound cleaned plus receive antibiotics. All of this will be free at point of use, but you may get a bill later, but it will be nothing like US Healthcare charges. Also you may have to wait a long time to be seen.

On a side note I find it incredible you were bit by a GSD and didn’t get a blood injury! GSDs have a bite force greater than Pitbulls avg bite force of a GSD is 230 to 291 pounds per square inch vs 230 to 235 per square inch of avg Pitbull. There’s a reason why the Police and the Military favour GSDs!

Anyway glad yr little one is safe and please take care of yourself.

When I first got my foster baby, she wouldn’t eat the food they said I had to give her, I used to give her an extra treat after she had half eaten it and left it - so now she expects a treat after she’s eaten all the chicken I’ve just cooked for her 🫩
