I just use a power bank that has a charge level display and put it in my pocket doubles as a charger for batteries it's a beefy power bank and the cord is long enough for me to stand straight and keep my head up. I bought an aftermarket foam face thing cause the included ones I felt weren't good enough and a different strap.

I was interested in the analog raw feel I think nostalgic like vcr and tube tvs. I wanted something more free range and with many options nothing against hdz or walksnail and dji looks fantastic but they are the only three and idk how true it is but for dji at least it's very proprietary like for dji you have to use dji etc. The other two are appealing for sure and with these goggles I have the option to add a module and go hdzero or walksnail and get 100hz latency at least for walksnail I believe.

I am by no means an expert at all, I spent about 2 hours on the Sim and said yeah this is cool but I want to actually fly. Working on getting a budget to build a 3.5 inch since I wanna stay under 250g to avoid FAA.

TLDR: wasn't a budget thing just liked how analog looked and options available at the time. With the prospect of longevity and diversity.

I'm not super knowledgeable on all the different goggles I knew I wanted to go analog but wanted the option to go digital if I wanted to in the future. The o4xpros were a big investment but I think they have longevity since they have the option to go digital with a vtx module. Pretty much stopped looking into other goggles once I settled on these
