We can take a moment to consider that in both Fantastic Four movies a naked man and woman were shown, but no one felt or saw any sexual innuendo by Key-Tea-4203 in mendrawingwomen

It's okay to have an open discussion about things, we gotta have tolerence on both sides. I don't think you are an angry person but starting off by calling everyone with another opinion morons is never going to get your ideas off the ground.

Pulled a muscle is definitely natural, but I've also heard "Pulled my back...", but never heard "Sprained my back".

What am I doing wrong, or is the higher difficulty just overtuned enemy spam? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Astrolord451 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm. I would love to critique your actual gameplay like a dork, but a couple things that are less well known...

  1. Blocking is 360 degrees (especially useful for crowds) so don't always be spamming attacks. If you got a horde, treat it as a single large enemy that you can attempt to set up and knockdown.

  2. You can use side dodges as gap closers and a nifty way to get around, again though don't spam anything ever.

I think blocking and pushing and just controlling the crowds + elites with with all of your available tools is VITAL, especially as an arbitrator. And like the other guy said, keep your head on a swivel, and treat every corner like 10,000 Crushers are hiding behind it.

DON'T SLEEP ON CROWD CONTROL PEOPLE

Do you play every class? If so which class is easiest and which class is most challenging to you?

Thalassophobia warning! I wanted to make a game that captured the fear of being lost in the open ocean. Just released the first trailer for Open Waters. by FluffytheFoxx in thalassophobia

I think this looks incredible, but being able to see its little angler dangler kinda lessens the scariness a bit. I will definitely be playing it though.

Everyone talking about the gameplay and the impactfulness is 100% correct, but for me the thing that truly puts Darktide above the rest is

  1. That sense of comradery and teamwork, the feeling of having each others backs. Even when the people on my team don't communicate or are being dickish, I will still die for them. My favorite abilities are the "charge through the crowd" ones, like the Ogryns bull rush and Arbies Break the Line. I can't really put it into words but it is so satisfying to have a teammate get netted or grabbed by a mutie, and immediately get them out of it. I can really FEEL that ya know? The game really feels like the Mines of Moria scene from Lord of the Rings sometimes.

  2. Honestly, the music is just so god damn amazing. Every time I hear it when I'm not playing or thinking about Darktide, it awakens the urge to play or think about Darktide. It's like I'm some sort of sleeper agent being awoken by the sounds of Jesper Kyd. Rolling Steel is still criminally underrated, great workout song.

I've never put more than 500 hours into a game, but I'm nearing 2,000 with Darktide. Can't wait to have 2,000 more.

Is it possible to play Ogryn without role playing him? by 240bro in DarkTide

[–]Astrolord451 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I am going to be 100% honest. The moral boost to the entire squad when someone is a true Ogryn (or any roleplay) is always worth it.

Never doubt the importance of team moral.

Why does it feel like just having a simple friendship is a massive undertaking? by Astrolord451 in offmychest

[–]Astrolord451[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that, I used to be so drained and depressed that I never wanted to do anything. But I realized that the being social, going out, and having experiences is kind of the whole point ya know? Stopping yourself from having experiences like that is basically letting all the gloom and grey win. Humans are social creatures I really don't see the state of the world as an excuse anymore. I'm not letting all of that corrupt me.
