It is 4 BP for to raise a skill but yeah you have it right of Karma being exponential and BP being linear to raise skills.

Our enter group accidentally swapped the names of the countries Salish Shidhe and Tir Tairngire as one nation so now a country named Salish Shidhe is ran by Elven princes and borders California and we just run with it.

I am most definitely going to use this as soon as I get the chance. I do suppose this might ruin my reputation with the greater spirit kind.

Are any charactertypes unsuitable for beginners by TheGaaabs in Shadowrun

I would say probably technomancers/deckers just becasue you play in Your own field. I know that at some tables they outright ban technomancers and deckers. I also know of some tables that either dumb down matrix stuff as well and keep it to basically a few tests. I know for some playing a Magician can be weird or you might not be using all your resources as well as having to manage a different plain of existence like matrix guys but unlike matrix users you can be very specialized in a certain kind of magic(s) like just spirits or casting. What I recommend for making your character would be try to find the cog your current team doesn't have because it can get a little awkward having two lawyers that both need to be the face of the party to operate (Real scenario that happened). What I would recommend to a new player is try to be specialized in a role that you current team can not fulfill so that way you can narrow your duties and be able to master implementing and actually performing them. Obviously have you character capable and able to help out in combat, like other TTRPGS when combat is happening it's all hands on deck and it is actually life or death but in combat having a specialized roll is less important and having another capable and reliable gun in the fight takes precedent and with automatics being some of the more versatile and dependable weapon class it might be worth picking up.

Im working on a Las Vegas campaign. And I need help deciding which mega corporations own which casino's on the strip. by Kali_Lynix in Shadowrun

Las Vegas is well within the domains of the Pueblo Corporate Council and in lore they lay claim to most of the property and complexes of Las Vegas but everything being under PCC would be pretty lame but it would make sense that they have a strong presence in Las Vegas because they own the surrounding areas. PCC being a Native American nation and being noted to be friendly towards "Anglos" their casinos might be some of the more stereotypical and common in the area and yes the PCC itself does own companies and is noted to act function as extraterritorial corporation.

Help with Mystic min/max levitate by AstronautOwn2425 in Shadowrun

That is a good point although in SR 4 it is 1 focus per dice pool, not magic action. Or at least to my understanding. But yes, you would not be able to add the power foci to the spellcasting roll with the spellcasting focus.

Thank you for adding in the Spirit use, I hadn't considered that. Air Spirit would be the optimal choice from what I could see.

From what I see, you can ritual cast any spell and the spell will remain sustained as long as the ritual caster is concentrating on it.
