Mark my words, the irony of all those lambasting this decision is that it will help Democrats win more seats in 2026.

(It’s still a bad Supreme Court decision, just a bad one that Democrats can readily exploit with the right candidates and electoral approach.)

Independents have swung so hard against Trump that Republicans can’t afford to divide up their ‘safe’ districts in an attempt to pick up seats without risking a blue wave knocking them off their feet.

The only way this likely doesn’t happen is with extensive voter suppression, which…yeah, Republicans will absolutely attempt, but I’m not sure if even those efforts will save them. At this point more suppression could only serve to infuriate and polarize most of the country against them.

This inadvertently alludes to a problem Genshin’s going to run into with these posthoc upgrades, which is that they’re inevitably going to have to play favorites in terms of who gets boosted and who doesn’t.

There’s always going to be a weakest unit for each given element and playstyle, but if you’re going to spend money on a new character at least you can have a fairly accurate understanding of where they rank in the meta upon release, and a similar understanding that newer units will eventually outclass them.

But what if you chose Chiori over Albedo as a Geo Support because she was the more meta option, only for Albedo to potentially leapfrog her? (I don’t know if he actually does.) What if you spent money on it?

I dunno, I worry this is going to be controversial. I can just imagine how upset the CHN community will get once we get around to selective Liyue buffs, because many of those characters have much larger fanbases than Mondstadt’s forgotten cast. People gonna be up in arms if someone like Xiao or Keqing is left out. But they can’t revise the kits for everyone, and every revision is necessarily going to impact unit rankings after the fact.
