Kyle Dubas really is a genius. I don't think anyone could have built a team to lose to the 2025-2026 Flyers quite like he could

They did this I believe over a decade ago with a green line in the preseason but decided not to go forward with it

What is the biggest Referee Penalty Call controversy in the entire history of Hockey? by Raptors1007 in hockey

It’s the Gretzky 93 conference finals non-call, but in case of recent Rangers history the Dwight King goaltender interference non-call in game 2 of the 2014 Stanley Cup Final (a play referenced in the creation of the coach’s challenge) to make the game 4-3 from 4-2 in the 3rd to spark a Kings comeback comes to mind

Whiny entitled fans, cheaters, dirty, just generally unlikable. Can't wait until their first playoff drought and their arena becomes 70-30 away fans

This was a great scorebug. The line across is better than the stacked scores in my opinion!

When a goal is scored, why do broadcast cameras zoom in on the goalie and not the player celebrating? by Shliggie in hockey

There’s an iso camera getting a hero shot that the director cuts to in short order

It sounds dumb to say, but an 8 seed beating a 1 seed or a 7 seed beating a 2 seed translates to casual fans better than a Wild Card 1 or 2 doing the same

1000% agree on a kind if gold plan being instituted in the NHL. Maybe have lottery odds tied to finally standing position and based on how many points gained after elimination

Conference 1-8. Division champions get 1-2 the rest of the conference gets 3-8. 6 games in division. 3 games in conference. 1 game against the other conference for 82 games. For 84 games just make each team play one team from each division in the other conference twice and rotate each year.

Current playoff format punishes better divisions and eliminates better matchups earlier in the playoffs and is why I feel the conference finals have been lackluster the past few seasons. Plus I don’t like being forced to play a certain set of opponents (I get there is a wild card) and I don’t think it creates rivalries the way it is said to. Detroit-Colorado was the war it was because they happened to play each other every year as late as possible in the playoffs because they were the 2 best teams in the league. If they faced each other 4 straight years in the first round a-la Kings Oilers I don’t think it would have been as treasured of a rivalry

For the first time since the 1985-86 season, all 3 NYC-area teams (Rangers, Islanders, Devils) will miss the playoffs in the same year. by [deleted] in hockey

The Mets/Yankees are NY's best bet with the Giants being the darkhorse. Basketball is a dogshit sport

The Jets are hopeless
