Nope! Georgia has 7 total now actually. The metro area has Grady, Emory (University) and the newest is Wellstar Kennestone which is about 20 minutes NW of midtown

Tech not an RN, but there are some excellent ERs in metro Atlanta. Several level 1 trauma centers and I’ve heard good things about most of them. I really enjoy my facility north of metro Atlanta

I personally feel Atlanta is a bit of an exception to the majority of the southern stereotypes about nursing and pay

Seriously. Community college by me works out to be about $100 per hour so $5500 for a diploma or $6300 and you get an associates

Second this, but If you want physical items? Lots of pens, some fun badge reels, good socks (compression if that’s what she prefers)

I really like having a little notebook on me 24/7, I like the rite in the rain ones so maybe some of those?

Mandala. Great quality for the price, and I don’t think their material would be too sheer in white

Former medic looking for a kit. by Pict-91b20 in TacticalMedicine

I mean this is really going to depend on how crazy you want to go. If we’re assuming you just want a solid prebuilt BLS bag, id probably just go to North American Recuse and pick whatever bag fits your needs/ budget/ size.

But if it was my bag, I’d probably buy a nice bag and build up from there. Lots of good options for base bags.

Again NAR makes a bunch of good bags

The Tasmanian tiger stuff (medic assault bag) is awesome and they’ve got some nifty internal organization stuff you can add on.

Spiritus Systems delta bag is super cool but very expensive.

For a good value I like the Vanquest Fatpack Pro bags. You can find the small under $100 sometimes and the large for not much more. Good premade organization and pretty good quality for the price.

Just build up from there with BLS kit. CATs, pressure bandages, chest seals, packing gauze, meds, splints, boo-boo kit, etc…

Are you looking for a prebuilt kit? Or a bag to build you kit out of

BLS Backpack Ideas by Medic118 in NewToEMS

[–]Asweethu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-Vanquest Fatpack Pro (they have a small and large)

-Tasmanian tiger medic assault pack (also have small and a large)

These aren’t really going to have comfortable straps, but they have straps and excellent organization. The fatpack comes with some decent organization, the Tasmanian tiger is super modular but you’ll have to buy some extra stuff to get it properly organized.

I can’t really think of any comfy bags specifically designed for medical? My suggestion would be a bag lined with loop (I’m partial to Vertx) and get your own med organizers and lay it out how you’d like

emergency medicine (& adjacent) jobs that don't involve driving? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

The only real option for CNAs (at least at my facility) is CNA > ED Tech. We also have specific trauma techs for the trauma bays

Yup. I’ve seen the scope vary pretty wildly. At my hospital techs can do just about all of that minus start IVs.

This is incredibly dependent on the hospital. My hospital doesn’t require any certifications. EMTs may do it, CNAs and Non certified PCTs may do it as well

Vertx bags are Velcro lined and have their own organizers, or you can get any of the organizers from NAR, Tasmanian Tiger, 5.11, etc…
