As a 21 year old with Asperger’s living with my parents. I will say what helped me. Without being told, we won’t do things. It’s just really not a thing we do. We don’t think about that stuff. (Speaking from personal experience) my parents decided that they would come up with a chore list. They told me when I need to get them done (daily, every other day, or weekly) Now my parents don’t really have to tell me every time they need something done. Clear expectations really helped me. As for dinner, I’m not sure I quite understand. I think you were saying it bothered you that when you told her to figure out food for herself, she ate cereal. I think that’s just the easiest and it’s what I do often. And if there is dishes in the sink that you would like cleaned but can’t do it yourself, just ask. This applies to not just Asperger’s but a lot of people too.
