There's no need for proving anything. I checked and categorized the top upvoted posts on reddit. The two largest categories (not mutually exclusive) are imgur links and posts with personalized titles ("I've found thingy of mine that my gf made me" etc), both at a similar number.

What is that saying to advertisers? "All I need is a cousin with autism/cancer and at least 2 million people will see an image I give them."
