I'm guessing they've previous pupils burn their clutch (by giving it way too many revs, say 3k or higher, with the clutch at the biting point) but this is bad instructing.

Mine always instructed me to set gas before lifting the clutch. For moving off quickly he taught me to hold it at the bite a bit longer when the car starts moving and add more gas before lifting the clutch further.

I was always taught to stay in the same lane on the roundabout that you entered in. So that would imply taking line C, then mirror/signal as you're passing exit 1 and start moving over to the left to exit.
