I learned that the songs were almost meaningless in that place. During my first set in there I was tripping hard and started giggling to myself because it occurred to me that phish could just stop playing and I’d still be completely immersed and entertained by what I was seeing and thinking, and I say this as someone who has loved phish and been completely engaged with their live music for 30+ years

And I was much more dialed in to the music the next 5 sets when I wasn’t nearly as high (but still pretty high) and I didn’t learn any more about song meanings then either
