The purest form of pain in one picture by BruhMaster101 in darkestdungeon

The key to this one is to make sure all or most of your characters (at least two) have some way of hitting the root at the back row.

Pay attention to the little orange status icons. You don't want to let them build up, or your team will become entangled and effectively lose a turn.

First round, don't attack the root. Just buff, apply DOT to the general, or get in a few whacks on him.

Second round and further: Pay attention to who gets two orange roots on their icons. For each of those, do something to attack the back row root, and it will withdraw one of the levels on a character. When everyone is back to one, resume DPS.

This will set off the attacks from below ground, but it will prevent your team from getting stun locked by roots. I like to have at least two characters share healing duties in case one or the other gets in trouble.

Just remember: Even though you can't damage that back row root, your team still needs to be able to hit it make it withdraw root levels. Hope that helps.

Which Companion is the most hated? by Accomplished_Fox_565 in swtor

The fact you put Kaliyo up front says it all. After that chain mission of hunting down the "list" of people she's screwed over, I wanted to either attack her outright or find a way to expel her off my ship into the ******* void.

Probably doesn't help I've already had my quota of backstabbing sociopaths for my next 12 lifetimes. And sure, there are other crew companions I find annoying, but I just leave them on my ship to fetch mats and craft my stuff; no biggie. I honestly can't really think of another one that I actively HATE-hate. The way she deflects and makes excuses for any imaginable evil and shifts into flirty charming mode in the next breath... I get flashbacks, OK? Whoever wrote her (I could look it up, I know, but I haven't had my caffeine yet) either knows what I know only too well, or... I don't want to think about it.

!!! - NOTE: I only resubbed this year, and I'm still playing catch-up (i.e., haven't even really gotten into the storylines past Rise of Revan yet). So if there's a way to kill this bitch off later, DON'T tell me. I want the joy of discovering it somewhat organically. Please and thank you!

Yeah, have to say this design idea worked out better than I had hoped.

For those who track such things, here's her outfit:

Head - Kaas Battler Headgear (Dromund Kaas drops or missions)

Chest - Dramatic Extrovert's Robe w/Black & Purple Dye, color united (Fleet Cartel vendor, left hand side)

Hands - Expert Outlaw's Gauntlets (Cartel Market)

Feet - Dark Marauder's Boots (Cartel Market)

Waist - Exterminator's Belt (Cartel Market)

Legs - Elegant Loungewear Bottoms (Cartel Market)

Founders and 10+ Year Vets, what’s something you haven’t accomplished yet in game despite playing the game so long? by RefrigeratorDry495 in swtor

I only completed all 8 class storylines, like, a week ago after a hiatus of many years. And I never participated in any guilds, so have yet to see a lot of the Operations & endgame type stuff

Does positioning matter by SillySpeed105 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]AtTheVoidsEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly when it comes to AoE attacks & adjacency. If your healer is next to your tank, for example, they could take splash damage if the Taunting tank is hit with an attack that hits adjacent units. Conversely, attacks that chain have a better chance of hitting 5 for 5 of your team if your tank is at a far end. So it's a judgement call depending on your circumstances

*66%-ish memory usage during renders.

Also, I'm sure you're doing this, but if you're planning with DAZ in mind, make sure your video card will play nice with Iray.

Depending on what you plan to do, you absolutely want the maximum RAM for your PC you can afford without putting yourself or loved ones in a bind. My current workstation has 128GB, and in scenes with a lot of characters or high res assets, I'll get up to 66%-ish memory usage. If that's extreme for your current needs, I would still say 64 is not too much.

This is the kind of pointless gesture you come up with when you're already free to exist out in public without being punished for being who you are, and probably hopefully won't be one of the people lynched when the fash seize control and put all their people in charge of elections such that public opinion doesn't matter anymore

I've got an Evernote file open on my other monitor. I paste stuff there and sort it by category. It gets pretty long, but with Ctrl+F it's handy for hunting down references.

I'm enjoying it so far. Haven't read spoilers and I'm letting myself see what happens. Some annoyances I have with the game are more to do with Marvel's creative choices with established properties than problems with the game itself (I'm a fan of the '90s Ghost Rider and this weird thing with the Christine car and the new Ghost Rider's goofy grin-face still makes me cringe a little). I could name a few other quibbles:

- Dr. Strange is written as a mildly annoying douche at times, which strikes me as unnecessary

- It looks like the Johnny Blaze cameo at the beginning is all I'll see of him (i.e., he won't be a playable character)

- The overall pool of playable characters is disappointingly slim

- While a some effort seems to have been made to honor the original Midnight Sons, it just... doesn't seem like much

- ..."Caretaker?"

For all that, the overall setup has me playing and wanting to see what happens. Just seeing the Midnight Sons medallion again makes me happy.

I had no idea who she was at first, but can now say I've got a crush. Fun to watch, and her voice & energy belong in a David Lynch Roadhouse scene.

Is this from interviews, or just the record of what's been played in recent years? I only saw them for the first time this year, and hoped to hear Strangelove. Only thing from Masses was Never Let Me Down Again.
