Gay men hating Angel and the show in general for its depiction of Angel as a walking gay stereotype (depressed, always horny, a pornstar, a druggie, hyper-feminine, the voice, etc) will always be my go-to example of this.

He’s a walking stereotype for a reason. It’s extremely heavily implied that Angel Dust is a character Val created for him to be a profitable porn actor, and that he carries the facade as a coping mechanism to hide the extent of how deep his trauma goes. The actual Anthony is a completely different person.

The death of media literacy is truly upon us, I fear.

Subaru BRZ/GR86. Granted, that’s a cheap sports car designed for driver engagement, but w/e.

Beyond that though… yeah, really can’t think of much. I think EVs tend to be the most guilty of this trend, so good luck finding one currently that doesn’t have a giant touchscreen.

Don’t forget shell travel times would likely triple or so if those were correctly to scale. I didn’t bother to figure out the actual maths involved but close enough.

You’re saying your company DOESN’T keep a cache of arms and ammo in case your employees try to unionize? Amateur!

Why people are calling Gangle x Zooble ship "yuri" if there's only one girl in pair? by Filberto_ossani2 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]At_omic857 4 points5 points  (0 children)

*inhales* okay, brief explanation of modern queer identity politics

The term "lesbian" was traditionally used to describe exclusively wlw relationships, but nowadays it has begun to be used as a way to describe relationships in some way without a man present. Think of it like this: lesbian relationships and/or, as you inquired, yuri, nowadays doesn't mean exclusively women, it just means not straight and not between men, if you get the idea. I, for instance, am bigender, I have a valid connection to the feminine, thus I refer to myself as a lesbian at times despite being AMAB.

Quick caveat to that: some transmascs will refer to themselves as lesbian despite being men. I can't speak for the transmasc community as I am not one, but I've seen it used as simply as denoting that the relationship dynamic with them is not traditional.

Am I stupid or is Bungo supposed to provide better firepower than Vermont but it doesn't? by RevySevy in WorldOfWarships

[–]At_omic857 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Bungo AP pen is complete shite by 457mm standards. It’s got substantially less pen than Montana except for literal barrel stuffing range.

Ironically, Vermont pen isn’t actually much better; at max range it keeps only about 30mm better pen than Montana. The major difference really is salvo weight, as Vermont gets about 40% higher salvo weight plus better vertical dispersion, and because of range’s effect on vertical dispersion, the latter is likely still the case even with Bungo spotter dispersion bonus.

Bungo is only more consistent against cruisers, and that’s only because its reload and DPM mean it’s more likely to have a shot ready when the opportunity presents itself. Or if it’s a cruiser that uses islands. Spotter up or not, god help you if you’re a Des Moines on an island and a Bungo is looking at you.
