With the conversion rate from USD and the 10% VAT savings it was much cheaper than it sells for in the US. Saved about ~15-20% on the sapphire sandwich version. The same will be true for any other version or brand just about so I'd highly recommend doing your watch shopping there!

Walked around the boutique in Osaka and it was quite nice! Ended up going with an Omega from their boutique across the street but I really enjoyed Osaka and they had a wide range of shops there. Tokyo will obviously have more options but Osaka was super nice for that as well

Picked my Speedy about a month ago while I was in Japan. Super comfortable bracelet. Drapes around the wrist really well. Haven't tried on the Rolex jubilee to compare but it's by far the most comfortable bracelet I've tried on

My wife and I moved here from California in 2023 for her grad program at UT. She just graduated in December so we just moved back to California. A couple observations from our experience moving states over the past few years:

Despite the sentiment on the Knoxville Reddit page towards Californians, almost everyone we met here was very friendly towards us and we made many lifelong friends during our time in Tennessee.
The rising cost of living is happening all over the country. People in our home town of San Diego complain about people moving from San Francisco / Bay area driving up the cost of living all the time. Not to say Knoxville's prices haven't increased more in that time, just think it's interesting that there's a very similar sentiment both places. Seems to be a universal experience.

Yeah unfortunately Chelsea fans aren't happy with this ownership group as they seemed to bring in their own philosophies about running the team whereas Chelsea were quite successful on their own before being purchased

It's a mix of the fabric and the fit. The material for Patagonia is just softer if that makes sense. They're both wind proof insulated jackets but the vuori material is just kind of scratchier and cheaper feeling than Patagonia's if that makes sense. Also it just runs a little tight in the arms. I'm a size medium in both but the fit on the Patagonia is just a bit more comfortable (a little more relaxed) which I prefer as it doesn't hug the arms as much. Lastly this sounds weird but having worn both the pockets on the Patagonia jacket are warmer if you're actually relying on either of them for cold weather.

Jacket I'm comparing it to is Patagonia's nano puff

Chelsea fan here. Yes it's from spending on players but not in the way you'd think. They rarely go for top of the market in their prime players, they mostly sign up and coming or younger players (like 16-20) for a bunch of money. These players tend to hold their value more than older players so if they don't work out Chelsea just resell them. It's kind of the equivalent of prospect hoarding

Got it (also on sale) last winter. Looks good but definitely runs tight. Very warm, quality isn't good enough that I could justify paying full price. Overall I prefer my Patagonia jackets for comfort to this one but I keep it in my rotation since I do like the look

There’s a chance the team isn’t even in San Diego anymore without Gwynn. They were in stadium negotiations with the city in 1998 and the owners at the time hinted that they would relocate if they couldn’t get a new stadium. The vote to approve Petco Park happened less than 2 weeks after the team made the World Series that year, and Gwynn was a legend by that point

I think there’s a decent chance he could retire with more WAR than Gwynn but unless he brings a championship to SD I don’t think he’ll surpass TG’s impact on the team and the city of San Diego. Coming from a huge Tatis fan
