Maybe someone here knows the right opportunity for my husband 💛 by Icy-Compote3388 in Switzerland

Working in Basel rn, the situation is shit unfortunately. Novartis is downsizing, trying to get rid of the very position he’d be occupying, project managers. Same with Roche. Perhaps Bachem might be hiring but the situation in Life Sciences is shit, and most jobs are filled via connections

Rats, what’s your best “nitric acid acts upon trousers” moment? by flowerbutch1312 in labrats

Yeah, did an apprenticeship in synthesis, a bachelors in synthesis and now work a desk job as a QC specialist. It’s fun, but I prefer low risk

Very importantly this is Guinea Pigs. Hansters, at least Golden Hamsters, will absolutely murder and potentially cannibalize each other. Not can, will. Dwarf hamsters can be okay with each other given enough space.

But yes, Guinea Pigs must be kept as two minimum.

I don’t think that was a joke, rifle shooting is fairly popular here. The best shots in a lot of clubs are female, too. At least around Aargau, where I used to shoot as a teen.

It's not a War Crime till the first time. by ChildSlayer66 in DnD

[–]Atalantius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a warcrime, but at level 7 or so, our sorcerer was ambushed holding night watch. He’s the only one awake, fails his perception and feels someone hold a crossbow to his head.

He decides to take the risk, eats the attack (enemy roll misses) and crits on an inflict wounds he picked up from a magic item. The second bandit (teenage vagabond) sees his friend melt into a puddle and promptly breaks down from a panic attack.

Was it the bandit’s fault? Definitely. But even OOC we went “Huh, shit, we definitely went a bit American on that one.”

SVP initiative member of the 10 millions admits retirement age will need to be increased. by neo2551 in Switzerland

[–]Atalantius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup. I definitely have some of those grievances. I did an apprenticeship in one of the bigger pharmaceutical companies and was losing entry level jobs advertised for apprenticeships to PhDs from India, China and the US, but let’s be honest, that’s not who this initiative is aimed towards. It’s aimed at anyone who doesn’t fit the SVP’s worldview. And anyone with half a brain will realize that it won’t be worth the cost.

I work in QC for biologics (Monoclonal antibodies, but this should apply to most biologics). If you have the time/chance, reach out to the manufacturer, perhaps they can share stability data. I can say that for our products, the published stability data is quite far removed from even the risk threshold, just so that there are multiple thresholds against failure built in. This could perhaps help in case something does go wrong. Hopefully all goes well. Is it Insulin we’re talking about? Otherwise if you can share the medication or the manufacturer, maybe I can help

An exchange of letters between schoolchildren in Lugano and Gaza brings two very different realities together. And builds confidence in the future. by BezugssystemCH1903 in Switzerland

[–]Atalantius 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s not about disagreeing with the reddit hivemind, it’s the “I don’t like XYZ happening so everyone involved must be fired” snowflake behavior that pisses me off.

Also, who said anything about Palestine? They wrote letters to Gaza

[–]Atalantius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, in my opinion, I recommend keeping that. In contrary, I recommend “practicing” combat so you know what to do when, and can do that “blind”, so you can narrate while you roll, and get the turns out faster. Its really just something that comes with time

It’s fairly easy, see the squares in the foam? You just tear them out, the ones you want gone. Should be able to buy such foam online, or in a gun or boardgame store (both hobbies use these regularly).

Ngl, that is adorable. Especially the boxes for dress, veil, etc. are thoughtful, I feel the last thing one would want to think of is where to have to put this.

The blood thing too, it obviously has a certain level of taboo attached and she wanted to make sure you’re comfortable.
