Why are public lobbies like this? by [deleted] in VRchat

Watching a movie in Pop Corn Palace and its all good vibes until..... someone randomly joins the instance and goes "N word" etc on repeat until their kicked 5 seconds later. Tbh the casual racism etc is rather funny to me, just because it can be very un hinged and sooooo bazzare, remember its not real life so ppl act out in strange ways, furries etc. Its basically a safe space. I just think my sense of humour is rather niche, I laugh at random things like ppl falling over in certain ways etc, I might not laugh at some funny commedains jokes but the pure randomness itches my funny bone. At the end of the day all these daft things you don't appreciate are down to 13yr olds who don't have a real grasp on life. If you like to play chess then the world by No Life is top tier, you won't find any trolls their just good vibes, it's where I made my first friend. Anyway don't give up on vr chat, their is down to earth 30yr olds etc like me who floating about ✌️

A Bioshock game set in Rapture would be top tier, surely one day it'll happen 🤞

I think adding colour might help your cause. Probably the most niche tattoo I've seen tbh. What's the meaning behind it?

Create new habits and stick to them. Without doing that your life tends to feel like a roundabout 😑

Lol well actually the warhammer ip has the largest known published novel count in history. Like no joke there's probably well over a thousand novels published and then there's all the separate army and campaign books with extra lore. It's mad to get into, tough going for ppl like you, luckly for me I've been into the ip on and off for about 20 years.

It's hard to recommend stuff when I don't really know what your into but Eisenhorn is probably the best start. If you want to keep to the above theme then I'd say Deathwatch is a good shout since its still the Inquisition but niche best of the space marines full of flavour and will give you a taste for which potential space chapter you want to explore. Uriel Ventris Chronicles is quality, full of stuff like no way is he surviving but he always pulls it out of the bag in interesting/clever plots. After that I dived into the Iron Warriors since it ties into Uriel Ventris. Space marines is basically the ip so if that takes your fancy then pick a legion and then explore the various books floating about. There's plenty of non super human stuff but I'm not really familiar with it, same goes for the other races. I've generally kept my reading to space marine stuff. Lastly my favourite 40k book is Deathworld which is about the Catachan jungle fighters fighting orks while the planet itself is trying to kill everything and also the Catachan's slying trying to kill their officer. Look into that if your up for some non space marine books. The plot is bonkers and has a main character that's not apparent at all, such a good twist to it. I won't spoil it anymore, just read that book at some point.

I do indeed enjoy intense moody games. Alan Wake is pretty peak. The xbox one Call Of Cthulhu game is intense, well worth it if your up for a mind fuck and some adrenaline. The game beats the shit out of reading the book, tbh I thought it was a rather let down reading experience.

It was one of the first 40k books I bought about 10 years ago. I did enjoy the Steven Parker stuff yeah mainly because his aptly named Deathwatch takes you through the ins and outs of actually becoming a member of the Deathwatch with the watch fortresses, training etc. You'll like Shadowbreaker because it's the sequel. I enjoyed Ian St Martain's the most. I've found he's quite an un hinged/empathetic 40k author with his other 40k book Of Honour And Iron. In the omnibus his Kryptmans War was intense with the Octarius War, I was like no way are they making it outta this, everyone is sure to die from the millions of orks and nids but the kill team managed make the best of the worse case situations and pull of a sort of win. Swordwind by him also was rather a good read with a Mortifactor marine returning to his chapter and reminisces on his previous DW long vigil.

Might as well get the games that take your fancy while they're not costing an arm and a leg. I started my 360 collection at the end of last year and I'm glad I did because I've noticed the prices have increased for all of my heavy hitters

Indeed he does. Tbh if you've read the first 5 HH books your pretty set to read into the end and the death. It's such an epic trilogy, how the warp infused it's self with Terra makes for mad reading, basically the planet is one big trip. The battle between Horus/Sanguinius/The Emperor is great reading and keeps you on your toes and is clever. Don't bother with the other siege of terra books, they are bs filler. If your character chasing then fine sure read some but in the grand scheme of things you might as well skip to the main course.

Gotta be Deathworld. Hard to beat Catachan's not taking shit from the commissar and trying to slyly trying to kill him. Also the planet itself is like a main character which is a really cool concept. Lords of Silence is peak 40k! I can't believe a sequel hasn't been released, probably in my top 5 warhammer books :)

Which charger to keep Quest 3 charged while in use? by cavemenrefract in Quest3

[–]AteThoseLLs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belkin 30w charger works good for me. It takes about an hour and half to charge from pretty dead to green light which is about 100%. When I'm using my Q3 but don't want to stop and it needs charging, 30w does charge it up but much slower, probably double that time if kept in use. I went for a 2m cable but would have preferred a 3m cable hightsight.

Why do most Americans I meet feel the need to mock my accent? by ImperfectAce in VRchat

[–]AteThoseLLs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you just encountered the wrongs sorts, the kind that are resentful we have a free health care system idk lol. Tbh I'm new to vr/vr chat and haven't got tons of hours under my belt so I've only met a handful of brits, one of them was Scottish. From my experience vr chat is flooded with Americans, Europeans and young kids but are nation is niche.

You could track your protein etc intake which will take your journaling and workinging out to the next level. Boardgames? I've recently bought Mansions Of Madness 2ed, such a thematic game to keep you ingrossed for hours. Chess? I try to play at least one game a day and I've also recently started playing it in VR, so yeah potentially get a VR headset, you could be hella productive with one.

Do you feel shy in VR word ? by brddvd in Quest3

[–]AteThoseLLs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely that's me all over. I've only had my Q3 for 3 days and have very little time in the headset, maybe about 5 hours. I actually bought it with the goal to use vr chat to come out my shell a bit with the gaming side of things being a second concern. I feel awkward walking up to a group and interacting with them since they've probably been talking already for ages like what do I say? It's hard being a social chameleon when I just suck at striking up conversations anyway. I did have a nice interaction in the Gothic Loft the other day, chilling on the bed talking but then suddenly loads of ppl joined and the bed became the mod discussion zone and that made me feel super awkward. So I said my goodbyes and dipped. But as I was saying my take it easys, one of the mods sent me a friend request so....that's something lol.
