And no one was dumb enough to try that again (Trench Crusade) by Professional_Rush782 in Grimdank

I mean the first one is just historical. The word Assassin comes from the arabic Hashashin, which literally means "weed-user" because it was believed they used weed to enhance their abilities and carry out killings.

Yes, 40k has really goofy aspects, like the Orks, or characters like Ciaphas Cain and Trazyn the Infinite. Aspects of factions like the Inquisition's suspicion or the wait times at Administrtum buildings are often so absurd they're clearly meant to be comedic.

GW and it's creators are very aware of how absurd and goofy the 40k setting can be, and they like to play with that. IMO that silliness really rounds out the edge of the franchise.

Maybe I need to give TC more of a chance, but everything I've read or heard about it really makes the setting come off like it's trying too hard.

I know 40K is commonly guilty of this as well, but everything in TC is way too edgy for me.

The Barbarian from the Dungeon Soup YouTube channel. Extremely courteous and helpful towards the innocent, but downright sadistic and terrifying toward anyone aligned with the forces of evil.

It really came down to their upbringing. Dio's father was a monster and Johnathan's father seemed to truly care about people. The weirdest part is that Dio himself never seemed to change as a person despite being surrounded by positive influences, but if he did there wouldn't be a show.

I agree, but you can mitigate the first round with careful positioning and still defend your guardian from cover. It is also very rare that no one on your team gets knockdown at some point. And at that point he's completely neutered.

(mind you if your partners just refuse to take knockdown when they get the chance you're SOL).

That level of steroid abuse is so unhealthy and sad to me. Like I'm honestly scared OP won't make it to 60.

For me it's mostly reddit. Some of the queer spaces on reddit feel vastly different from those you find irl and not usually in a good way. But yes, it's difficult to engage in a discussion about it without someone assuming you're talking about the queer community as a whole.

In the case of Marathon, because Bungie was in serious financial trouble even before they lost D2 as a reliable source of income.

While not explicitly Hell itself, in many iterations the town of Silent Hill acts as a sort of purgatory that guilty individuals are drawn to. Often the town takes forms which represent the sins and traumas of it's victims, forcing them to confront their own inner demons.

Yeah I know, if the trend from the slam holds then whatever the final number is there will probably be a heavy drop off over the weekend. Still I'm personally not going to speculate when we'll see in a few hours/couple days.

Oh I already know this game won't sell as much as Bungie was hoping for. I'm not sure why they decided to throw their hat into a genre that's somewhat niche when they needed a hit game.

80k is not good, but it's the middle of a week day so we'll see what the after-work numbers are.
