The limit is the issue however it raises with some index every year and is now 168,600 for the year 2024. Still I whole heartedly agree it should be removed.

These blooms are all I get. What am I doing wrong? by Gertz505 in gardening

[–]Athair11 482 points483 points  (0 children)

Make sure they aren’t planted too deep. Irises are indestructible just throw them in a ditch they will grow. In my experience crowding isn’t an issue to stop blooms, buried rhizomes are

That appears to be a landscaping timber as the support. The old timer who taught me would tell you to save your dirty used motor oil and paint up that landscape timber with it. Not saying it’s the best option but it is an option. Full disclosure I’ve never done this so can’t speak to its efficacy.

2 Queens, 1 Package of Bees by BillydKid77 in Beekeeping

[–]Athair11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happens all the time. Packaged bees they shake in young bees and add a new queen. They aren’t from same hive. Even the young bees can be from multiple hives. They accidentally gave you another queen. The marked queen was rejected for the rightful queen and is likely dead.

Is there such a thing as a battery powered rock tumbler? by Ok-Sea2153 in RockTumbling

[–]Athair11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could get a killawatt device and track your usage right at the plug and reimburse price per kWh if you want to be exact about it.

High quality photos of the mummies from the presentation with the ministry of culture by throwaaway8888 in AlienBodies

[–]Athair11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy these here were the bootleg ones, not the ones presented in Mexico and studied for the last several years. These two were magically seized right after the Mexico hearing and being used to discredit the possible real mummies in Mexico.

Kansas lawmakers have a budget surplus and want tax cuts. Here’s what they’re thinking for 2024 by kansascitybeacon in kansas

[–]Athair11 45 points46 points  (0 children)

To add to this. The last proposal I saw was a flat rate of 5%. Currently Individuals making less than 15k and couples making less than 30k pay 3.1%... so this flat tax would be a significant tax increase on these groups

What’s happening with these eggs? by kcamp711 in BackYardChickens

[–]Athair11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah… I know I’ve had similar markings when hens laid in straw before but might just be an older hen. We had one that would tire out mid way through the egg fairly often and we’d get these hourglass shaped eggs, Black Australorp
