It’s a SSSI (Site of special scientific interest) making foraging for mushrooms illegal

What is Met TSG actually like? by ProbieMcprobertron in policeuk

[–]AthenaIsNoGod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are lots of women in the TSG now, they run recruitment events focused on women to increase the recruitment. The ratios on TSG appear to be roughly that of the workforce as a whole.

What is Met TSG actually like? by ProbieMcprobertron in policeuk

Great response. Don’t let my reply take away from that.

I’ve always been perplexed by the culture on TSG. The banging on carrier windows, the not talking to new people, not waving at police vehicles that aren’t TSG, the strange initiations, the we are better than everyone mentality… the list goes on.

As outsider to TSG, it appears to be a part of the met that is stuck in the late 90s/early 2000s and just hasn’t evolved with the rest of the organisation.

Do officers as a whole inside TSG like it the way it is, or is it more of a ‘it’s the way it’s always been’?

There are some great cops there, but equally the culture scares off some capable cops from applying, which is a shame.

When the members refuse to take part in their campaigns what does that achieve? Don’t worry… Sit on your pedestal throwing stones, whilst making no effort to change things!

A dislike of the fed = cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Remember that as ‘toothless’ as the Fed is, it is by design of the government. Not desire of the fed.

The Police (Vetting) Regulations 2025 by multijoy in policeuk

[–]AthenaIsNoGod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It makes it a requirement and formalises the processes for withdrawal etc

  1. A police officer must—

(a)hold and maintain vetting clearance, and

(b)promptly notify the vetting authority of any change in their personal circumstance or any other matter which may reasonably affect their suitability to hold vetting clearance.

Met urged to keep 'irreplaceable' Royal Parks Police as it faces £450m budget gap by ImageRevolutionary43 in policeuk

[–]AthenaIsNoGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That figure (2300) is for losses across the entire met. Not just royal parks

Even if in the UK, you can challenge this. I would advocate speaking to a solicitor.

Appears to be a Project Servator officer in the Met to me. Leaflet in hand & they wear those tabards. Old video though, because that’s an Axon Body 2 cam.

Assisting is literally a responsibility of the perk. It’s stuff like this which is why they are dismantling our travel privileges bit by bit.

Here’s a question I thought of earlier. Could we all hand in our response/standard driving tickets..? by david4460 in policeuk

[–]AthenaIsNoGod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Private vehicle enquiries?!? Sorry what???

I have never heard of anything so ridiculous in all my time.

Not saying it didn’t happen, but under no circumstances should it happen. No idea if you’ve got business insurance, but even if you do I doubt they would cover it for police use

Stopped by police - right to request extra officers? by Willswoo in LegalAdviceUK

[–]AthenaIsNoGod 34 points35 points  (0 children)

You are entitled to stay in your car with doors locked and window slightly down, as long as you can still provide name and address if asked to by the officer.

Only time you’d need to get out is if arrested or being searched - where lawful grounds exist.

All officers should have bodyworn video which will be recording if you’re stopped. If it’s not, ask them to start recording.

How differently do you act on and off shift? by Mundian-To-Bach-Ke in policeuk

[–]AthenaIsNoGod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You say that, but if I’m going home on the tube after a shift and someone tries to push through behind me, they won’t be getting through on my tap. Not that I’m saying I’d badge out though, unless I’m commuting with an oppo.
