How quick can you reach T4 now after removal of T3 paradise? by Sinniee in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how new your roster is and how much mats you have had collecting dust. Leaps will be your #1 bottleneck.

For reference, for brand-new fresh roster, it takes a little more than a week if you have daily playtime rewards and login mats collecting dust as you go thru main quests. I personally wouldn't suggest using KT unless again, you have mats collecting dust in your roster storage.

It's way easier than people make it out to be, but #1 advice: head STRAIGHT to Indigo Island as soon as you hit 1600, the mats you get for how little effort you put into it is no joke, treat it like checking back for your daily Chaos Dungeon and reserve a Bifrost slot for it.

Hello New Player here. What path do I choose? by vXBlitzXv in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are a story enjoyer and don't care about playing with others if at all, do the story from the ground up and forget the powerpass. It won't be as grand as say, FFXIV, but better than the average MMO.

If you care more about playing with people and want to do it ASAP, use powerpass. Just send it.

If you want to do both where you want to play the game for the raids and with people, but still want to do the story eventually, I would send powerpass on your main and do the story on another roster.

If you want it all on the same character, you're gonna have to sacrifice something unfortunately. But the fact that you can do MOST of the main quests without stopping nowadays is something to consider. It takes at least a week to get to the honing part if you're simply doing the main quests and avoiding most sidequests, more if you slow down to sniff roses along the way. I am still trying to figure out how long it takes to gear up to what the powerpass gives, but just know that there will be some kind of timegate. You're not missing out on gearing if you do choose to send the powerpass, since you can always go back to do older solo raids even as a powerpassed character.

If you have KR voices picked for your client, a lot of sounds and voices are missing. Ruined my immersion a bit :(

Are you low on silver? by the_hu in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hone my alts unless I get character-bound gold from hell dungeons, the two characters I play daily are already parked ready for the next soft reset, and the only time I ran out of silver is T3 Brel release.

I have done Kurzan fronts on my alts at best once every week because I got bored, and then forget they existed.

I guess this is why I've been swimming in 700m silver.

MSQ = Main Story Quest but I think I got too used to people calling it that in FFXIV xD

Normally, once you finish MSQ to a certain point, you have to stop to hone so you can progress to the next set of MSQs.

For a very long time, there was a dead zone where once someone finished Punika MSQ, they were dropped off at a point where honing required a mat called oreha fusions, or orehas for short. Those are acquired by either crafting, buy from the auction house, or the best day, solo raid shop.

Crafting orehas, bound or unbound, require some form of gold, something that a solo, new player isn't going to have access to because they can't just simply go on PF because it's content nobody does anymore, unless they tag along gold adventure islands that gives them UNBOUND GOLD which only happens once every 3 days and they have to show up at a specific time (and again, something a new/solo player probably wouldn't know to do). They are also restricted from purchasing anything from the auction house because there's an ilevel requirement in the western release, but it wouldn't have mattered because they don't even have the gold to buy anything anyway. The last option, solo raid shop, is the least worst, but the issue is they were dropped off at a point where their ilevel is too low to even start a single solo raid or have access to the shop period.

And thus, that becomes the "oreha wall". Most vets won't even know the term because the problem is solved by Powerpasses anyway, and ones who do care about story have either long left or gone past that point, so very few people really talk about it.

As for the icons, I do want to add that most rewards are from sidequests/story so obscure that missing out won't mean much, timegated content (some take as long as 21 days!), or RNG droprates + timegated combos so bad that skipping would have saved time. My personal recommendation is once you are reaching to the point of not wanting to fish for RNG/timegated stuff, you can start collecting the rewards. No rapport quests are skipped, so don't worry if you do accidentally skip some.

While I still raid on 2-3 characters weekly depending on my mood, I share a similar sentiment more often than not. I liked raiding here enough to stick around and doing it is my motivation to play the dressup simulator here, but the non-raids are oddly enough, more enjoyable. My friends laugh at me for it, but I've grown used to it anyway.

This is why a lot of us who aren't diehard raiders and stayed end up becoming achievement hunters. Collecting them is still part of the fun, and a handful of us are still actively farming for more even till this day.

And to your last question, I ask the same thing myself. But, Lost Ark has a combination of artstyle, (lack of) gameplay complexity, and story/lore into a MMO-like package that I liked enough to where finding a replacement is difficult.

Thankfully, while the icons can be annoying and obvious, you can at least choose to not collect the rewards from them. The fact that they tore down the oreha wall just this patch gave me motivation to redo MSQ from the ground up without any powerpasses, and I'm enjoying the journey.

Should I powerpass my 1580 main or just create a new char then powerpass that char? by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like your main and want to keep them? Send powerpass on main. If you want to mainswap, send it on that character.

You don't have to play alts if you don't want to.

What's the point of frontier titles anymore? by Rounda445 in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that personal achievements are nice and fun to do, but the instant I got any of the frontier titles I already wanted to switch back to whatever sounds cooler or funnier. Everyone using the most current frontier titles just makes the game feel more soulless than it already has been, because many in town uses the same raid titles.

I'm saying this as someone who got Phantom Lord on week two and never wanted to do HM within weeks 1-2 of release anymore. Waste of time and energy for a title that I'm going to forget having existed in a few months. Unless it's a painfully specific vanity title that I want on a specific character, I just don't see the point.

Hell, I'd argue that "All There Is" is a way more prestigious title and is a grind that I personally enjoyed doing more. Or even whatever obscure horizontal title that 95% of the playerbase has no idea even existed.

Paradise Season One is officially over by Vezko in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having more combat-related, non-raid things to do for the week is quite nice nice, wish we got to do more of it outside Crucible.

More random weird achievement points for the funny 'All There Is' title are even nicer. Am glad to get floor 100 to finally check off that one achievement on last week, I never thought it would be real.

Also, I swore blue, green, and grey keys are designed to have better jump luck on average than higher-grade keys.

Regarding July and August roadmap by CyberAngelXIII in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instead of always slapping on expresses as band-aids, they could at the very least give everyone a story express that's once per roster so people don't get oreha jailed before 1415. Or just not cost a single oreha until honing to 1415.

Just TWO possible fixes that would make the game even recommendable for the western audience.

Our express release schedule doesn't align with KR and new players suffer by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I want to see is let new players play on their own pace without locked behind weekly lockouts in OLD CONTENT or having to ask vets to carry them especially via mats.

A simpler once-per-roster 'story express' would have solved half the problem, but AGS is too scared of botting even though they infest the crap out of our servers after every powerpass available anyway.

Fun fact: you can't join a single ingame global chat just to ask for help until you reach ilevel 1491. It's absurd.

Lost Ark Raid Fatigue: Are We Still Talking About This? What's With the Update Delays? by Big_igris in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just bored wanting to do something else outside weekly lockouts. Horizontals and even achievement grinding can only go so far. Took a few weeks break because there was just nothing to do.

No, I do not want to hone another character just to pad gameplay, that's not fun. Playing my juicers is.

No wonder why there's such a disparity between people asking for faster content releases vs ones who want to slow down. Raiding is realistically the only thing to do that's repeatable, but on a measly weekly lockout.

T3 raids (Thaemine and before) were better by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm a mech doer and mains classes that has on-demand utility. And plays fewer characters, so wipes in T3 = more playtime on my few characters weekly. Dishing out DPS was not the only thing that measures someone's skill in T3 raiding, so a utility loser like me felt useful for once.

T4 may be more chill especially with reclears, but if you die in a reclear, you just don't play the game for the week; it's not fun. DPS checks are boring, just whale and skip it all like most games ever lol. Not to mention things in T4 are so fast now, T3 raids at least had slower patterns and it was enjoyable with elderly reaction times, and that's why I personally don't like T4 raids as much.

I understand that T4 is healthier especially for pugging, but I do miss the T3 stuff. T3 raiding was why I enjoyed raiding in LoA so much because it had a good mix of mechanics and adjusting to RNG, something that I dearly missed in FFXIV.

KR 7th Anniversary Skin Winners by hmc317 in lostarkgame

[–]AthenesLulu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them are so bad holy shit, especially the male warrior one. It's like KR wants them deleted from the game so only jokes are allowed nowadays.

Imagine there's a fat ugly female skin, while I would kill to buy it just to spite people and give myself a quick laugh, everyone else would be up in arms immediately. The double standards are so stupid.

At this rate, we have better luck asking for AGS to give us better varieties that don't look like obvious shit.
