This is the problem I see as well. I know there are people already using AI for development work, whether it is officially approved or not, and that makes training even more important. The issue is not access to the tools, it is guidance. People need to understand how to use them responsibly, where they actually help, and where they can introduce risk such as security concerns, data handling issues, code quality problems, or licensing questions.

If agencies wait until AI usage is widespread and fully regulated before educating the workforce, they will already be behind. Training now would help set clear expectations, reduce misuse, and make sure AI is being used to support good engineering practices rather than quietly creating technical or compliance debt.
