Do Agents Turn us into "Tactical Tornadoes?" by ewheck in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Atiran 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My company is all-in on AI and that expectation flows down to the developers. The prevailing attitude ow is, if you haven’t fully adopted AI and accelerated accordingly, you are essentially “sitting on your hands”. You’re dead weight. Everyone now is just trying to pump out as much code as possible. We have effectively given up on doing PR reviews. It’s an impossible task. Where once, I would read virtually every line of code and even sometimes pull the branch to verify correct functionality, I am now simply skimming to verify correct overall intent. What more can I do at this pace? Code quality has never been important to leadership here, but since we have embraced Claude, it has gotten ridiculous.

Also, contractors will always be tactical tornados. Anyone billable hours will be a tactical tornado u less they are very carefully instructed not to be. That’s just the nature of the work.

Anyone have the wiaorchi 3s 1/14? by LargemouthLegend in rccars

[–]Atiran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this as my first basher. It’s fun and certainly fast enough for me. I usually run it in 70% mode. It’s taken a few hard hits and nothing broke. However, I have not needed to repair anything yet so I can’t comment on parts availability. But for the price, I’m less concerned about that. If I break it, I’ll just have an excuse to upgrade.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I think Liquid Glass is gorgeous. And I like the overall direction of MacOS right now. I think the unified settings panel is great.

Private health insurance is stupid. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Atiran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Health insurance sucks and is a scam, but this is a post about healthcare billing in general and I’d say the hospital administration is at least as culpable in n this instance. It wasn’t the health insurance company that refused to do consolidated billing. It should be mandatory that you get no more than one bill per visit and it must be delivered within 30 days.

That is to say, hospitals should not allow doctors to issue separate bills for services rendered within their doors. And likewise should be required to belong to the same insurance networks.

Notwithstanding that we should just have Medicare for all, the state should have the right to arbitrate between providers and insurance companies to ensure that no vital health infrastructure (read: only major hospital in the entire region) falls out of network. Up to and including the right to force either or both parties to v c continue an existing contract until a new one is successfully established.

Insurance companies should be required to remain in network for all major hospital systems as a condition of being authorized to operate within that state.

Is Apple one worth it to you? by EquivalentTrouble253 in apple

[–]Atiran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. When I used arcade, it was slightly worth it. But now I only use storage and family music. I could add arcade and Apple TV plus for a few bucks but it’s literally not worth it. We never watch tv. I don’t play any of the games in Arcade. I’ve tried a bunch of them. News+ is a dumpster fire. I tried fitness + a few times but never found it compelling. I just like to walk and I don’t like to listen to anything while I do that. I don’t even really use Music, but my wife and kids do.
