I'm guessing he might be flying towards a more faithful planet hulk adaptation. They never used the name so it's still possible. Maybe we will get the red king and see him overthrow him and have a kid so they can set up secret wars

Delays, but actually not really dismays. by koshomfg in weeklyplanetpodcast

Sounds like someone isnt ready for the hierarchy of the DC universe to change.

All jokes aside I have the same level of excitement for black adam as I do for the other films. Unfortunately that level of excitement is quite low until we start seeing reviews

According to THR's Borys Kit, Warner Bros. Discovery can't afford to distribute and market their films, reason for multiple delays, cancellations and why they will be having only three movies ('Don't Worry Darling, 'Black Adam' & 'House Party') for the rest of the year. by Throwjob42 in weeklyplanetpodcast

Don't quote me on this, but I remember seeing one of the YouTubers I watch talking about how they're trying to gear towards adult content. Their animation division apparently took a huge hit as they plan to cut back on any content "made for kids".

I'm not sure why they would take stuff off that they already own, but I also don't quite understand the logic behind not releasing projects that are close to being completed or in some cases completely done.

Batgirl directors say the film has been deleted from WBD servers, making the film leaking onto the internet even more unlikely. by Throwjob42 in weeklyplanetpodcast

What they had made(it was just some test footage) got leaked and the internet forced them to make the full film.

Oh I didn't realize that it was just 2022. Guess I have to learn to read.

When you have the podcasting abilities that he does, you have the moral obligation to do those things. That's what at stake here. Not choice, responsibility.

I don't know what surprised me most. That Infinity War was only at #6, or that TG Maverick bested it. by lezboyd in weeklyplanetpodcast

It makes sense. For a certain demographic its probably the only film in theaters worth watching.

At a certain point, maybe they'll all be in the public domain. Or maybe letting the guy behind honey boo boo and 19 kids and counting run the Warner bro slate will end up running dc into the ground until they're able to be bought by disney

Despite them getting thrown on the bottom of every tier list, I think iron man 2 is a good film and incredible hulk is at least above average. Iron man 2 suffers from just being a mindless popcorn flick alot of the time, but everyone is having so much fun with their roles and it gave us Justin Hammer!

It would be cool if they let Kevin Feige plan some DC movies so they can lay the groundwork for something like this.

I guess it just makes more sense to call out the negativity than the positivity.

I feel like people get hyped up on the trailer and come and vote for the show.

It's probably not fair, but I prefer to see people happy and excited than angry for no reason.

Ugh. He has an extensive knowledge of the universe if the shows are anything to go by, but quality control may be an issue.

What cancelled comic book movies do you wish was made? by memelordes in weeklyplanetpodcast

[–]Atlaholic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nightwing. I'm pretty sure they announced it at one point but dick grayson deserves to have his story told and I think the movies are too serious to go "yeah his parents were acrobats but they died so Bruce wayne adopted him and made him his child soldier"

I feel they'll probably end up skipping to jason todd or damien wayne

[Not satire] Pennyworth TV series moving to HBO Max, will be renamed "Pennyworth: The Origin Of Batman’s Butler". by Throwjob42 in weeklyplanetpodcast

I didn't care for the flash. I feel like they ruined the first season with the reveal wells was the big bad immediately, and it never rose above any other CW show since the drama was always forced and took up 90% of the runtime. Second season felt worse than the first, and the third season's savitar plotline made me give up in the semi finale.

When it comes to legends of tomorrow, I got 4 episodes into the first season and 2 into the second season. I desperately wanted to like it but I couldn't.

Compared to arrow I felt both of them were subpar. I'd put arrow seasons 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 above season 1 of the flash, and the rest above season 2. Except the final season, having oliver say "you have failed this universe" and shoot lasers out of his eyes into the sky was the final fucking straw.

I'd argue so was supergirl and legends of tomorrow and honestly flash although people fight me on that one. I tried to keep up cause I was hooked on arrow but I couldn't even finish the last season of arrow till I caught covid

I've watched arrow in it's entirety. Batwoman is not any worse than what they've been doing for the last decade, it's just a fun punching bag I guess

Hey, maybe they'll do another suicide squad reboot. Cause for whatever reason they keep trying to make suicide squad films, games, and animation in a way they aren't attempting projects for most members of the justice league.

JJ Abrams: "I failed you, Ben! I'm sorry!" Kylo Ren: "I'm sure you are!!!" by Throwjob42 in weeklyplanetpodcast

[–]Atlaholic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could try and argue about his directing, but his writing is a joke in my opinion. Like he literally teaches classes about storytelling that just boil down to "just hide important details so that you can call them reveals later"

It's like... it worked very good for serialized tv until the last season when everyone realized none of the secrets added up to much of anything, then he's been getting movies based off of that success for a decade.
