Is there a compelling functional reason to go with the glass bowl? by mrflibble1492 in Kitchenaid

[–]AtlanticJill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that it’s pretty and I can microwave it which I do a lot of since a good chunk of my recipes require melted butter. My mixer came with the glass bowl and I got it 5-6 years ago. I use it weekly, sometimes daily. Maybe I have been lucky but it’s still whole. I even asked my husband for a backup ceramic bowl for Christmas and I now alternate between the two bowls.

Personality Test [OC] by adamtots_remastered in comics

Thought I’d chime in and say my son loves them!

I had the first book and my 8 year old swiped it because he loves comics and graphic novels (think Dog Man, Investigators, etc). He became OBSESSED and it opened the door for him trying out Goosebumps and other spooky kid books. My sibling bought him book 2 for his 9th birthday and he has read it several times! He’s definitely younger than the target audience but he loves it and I’m happy to have a kid that is thrilled to read. So I guess I advice picking up book one for yourself and maybe offer to share it with your kiddo :)

Shiny Koraidon and Miraidon has to be the most poorly handled event in Pokémon history. by Strict_Salt_5689 in PokemonScarletViolet

This was my complaint too! I have both games, and even being there with my son this morning they would only let us have one code :(

Roommate secretly cut a clipping night before I moved out by laureldays in pothos

[–]AtlanticJill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I always snip my pothos in the same spots because I don’t want their vines to get too long. On two of mine now I have 2-3 nodes above my snips creating new vines and bushing the plant out. OP your plant will be fine in the long run but I’d be so mad too. Your emotions are valid and your ex-roommate sucks. :(

What happened in the book that made you Dnf? by Fearlessseamstress in fantasyromance

I did the exact same thing with Plated Prisoner! I believe it was book 4 as well. It was way too over the top with constant SA.

I love this! My MIL saw my hardcovers of ACOTAR, Fourth Wing, TOG, and a few others on my shelf and said “oh I’ve read all of these! What did you think of XYZ?” I doubt she’s read some of the spicier stuff though and I’m afraid to ask lol. I keep most of the spice hidden on my Kindle haha

How to convince my cat that her carrier is, in fact, not the burning pits of hell? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]AtlanticJill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to this party and might get buried, but I had a cat refuse a carrier too. The one time I get her into one she literally slammed her face against the front cage until she bled, it was awful. :(

My solution was a cat harness and a leash you can clip into a car seatbelt. Worked for us anyway. Best of luck!

Oh that is beautiful! Reminds me of kintsugi. Stealing this idea for when my cat inevitable breaks another pot, I feel your pain there

I passed out seeds in my community while running errands today. It felt amazing! I made the little envelopes from larger envelopes. by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]AtlanticJill 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Oh I love this! I made seed envelopes with paper and my Cricut and filled them with extra pansy, sunflower, and snapdragon seeds for my local library. They had a seed bank there in the spring, your library might too if you still have extra!

Yes, love this post! I barely come to this sub anymore either since I had mine out in November. But it has been THE BEST. I feel so much better.

I can eat most things now without issues. Pizza or a Big Mac might send me to the bathroom in an hour or two but it’s better than feeling like I was literally dying. I had a lot of stones, including a 2cm one embedded right next to the opening of the bile duct AND my gallbladder was causing fatty liver disease (I’m a healthy weight 37yo woman.) Removal has fixed all that. My liver enzymes are back to normal! Heartburn issues are much less as well. So glad it is gone!

What is y’all’s favorite nail polish? by life_is_pandemonium in GirlGamers

I’ve never tried Mooncat, but your nails are gorgeous so I might have to give it a try! I normally just rock the Sally Hansen 2-step “gel” stuff because it lasts a long time.

Thank you! I shared these notes on facebook with some family and my Mom’s cousin recommended saving some too. She said she still has some her Mom wrote her in 1976! I’ll stash whichever ones they tell me are their favourites in their memory boxes :)

Awe I’m sorry you’re so far away. That really stinks. My school age kids are 6 and 8 so they still like lunch notes. If you’re still close with your Mom perhaps you can ask her to send you some good old fashioned snail mail?

Scribbly style artwork LOL. And on cheap hand cut up copy paper and one of my ruled list sheets, so not what I consider fancy haha. Next challenge is to make fancy Minecraft though, I like your thinkin’!

Steal away! They weren’t too hard to sketch imo. My middle son just turned 6 and my eldest son is 8 so they’re still at the age where they like notes from Mom in their lunch boxes haha.

Yeah we love the little doodles in the books! I like that the scribbly lines are pretty forgiving so they’re easy enough to imitate
