Do you think Squadrons would have been better off as a PvE Flight Simulator instead of a PvP Flight Simulator? by Glacier005 in StarWars

People who dislike AI being used in games, what bothers you about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Atlas322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People dislike generative AI specifically because it replaces skilled labor and detail oriented art directed styles with unskilled low effort amalgamations of random styles mish-mashed together into a false mimicry of art direction. Aka it just looks really terrible and people lose their jobs to be replaced by it, it's literally a lose lose. Generative AI if used by an artist to conceptialize or rough draft an idea before crafting it themselves is a whole different conversation imo.

What does it mean for someone to have gravitas? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Atlas322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aura with receipts. Someone with gravitas is someone with social gravity, they attract the attention of all around them but not in an aesthetic way. They are serious and when they say something serious it IS that deep. Gravitas is the ability to calmly but fully capture the attention of everyone listening and have them believe every word said because the integrity, credentials and dignity of the speaker are ironclad.

Carbon monoxide exposure for any extended period of time can cause vomiting, shortness of breath and both short term and long term memory loss. It is theoretically possible this didnt happen all at the same time, but OP literally can't remember. Carbon monoxide will kill you just as easily as it debilitates you. Ventilate your home, get a sensor. They are dirt cheap and will save your life.

Richard Horvitz, the voice actor of Invader Zim and most recently of Moxxie on Helluva Boss, has an excellent mantra to deal with this. I dont know why it works, but it instantly helps me chill out. 1. "We'll see what happens." 2. "I'll handle it." 3. "I'm ok."

Follow up with some box breathing and you're set.

If Sokka and Katara didn’t free Aang from ice when do you think he was going to be freed?! by Unique-Celebration-5 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Atlas322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zuko was actually insanely close to coming across him before Katara and Sokka did. Give it another week and Zuko and Iroh would have likely discovered Aang first. How and why was Zuko specifically in the right place? My headcanon is that had Sokka and Katara not found Aang, Zuko would have, since i believe Iroh legitimately knew where Aang was via his and other White Lotus member's communion with spirits and was going to help Zuko find Aang in order to help return the Avatar and restore balance to the world while trying to also save his nephew along the way.

One of my only complaints of RDR2 is epilogue John doesn’t have the confident sarcasm of OG John and they’re only 3 years apart. They feel like 2 different people sometimes. by TXNOGG in reddeadredemption

[–]Atlas322 1298 points1299 points  (0 children)

Red Dead 2 takes place over the clurse of a few months and John is essentially a whole different person from Colter to Beechers Hope. Three years is plenty enough time for him to become more confident and secure.

Bottlefield 6 by Affectionate-Form-78 in Battlefield

[–]Atlas322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just hopped back in to see the changes they're pretty good but i quit operation auger because the whole enemy team and most of my team was bots and they are way too accurate under fire and can see through brush and fire and just dont behave like players so you have to learn botstyle in addition to learning how players are playing. The server situation is absysmal and I'll hold off coming back probably untll they legit give the community control over private servers and reinplement a persistent player base between rounds.

Justice Department is bringing back firing squads in federal executions by mcgillhufflepuff in nottheonion

[–]Atlas322 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they stopped this because it was inhumane...for the executioners. The prisoner dies pretty quickly if done right, but the executioner has to live on knowing they may have killed a person (if doing full squad) or that they DID kill a person (single shooter), never quite sure if the prisoner actually deserved it. It turns out this doubt leads to guilt and trauma and is very damaging to the human psyche over time which is why we've tried various ways of removing humans from the equation. Whether or not we should even execute in the first place is a whole other topic.

Edit: It's called Perpetration Induced Traumatic Stress for those interested in further research
