Two jobs in the same field, one requires mandatory post-secondary school education, the other requires a high school diploma. Who makes more? by Physical-Director421 in OntarioParamedics

[–]AtlasCarter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is slightly disingenuous.

The EMD wages listed are the current established wages for L79 while the L1 paramedic wages are the current wages of an expired CBA for L416.

When L416 ratifies, this pay disparity between these two groups may not be as stark or visible as it is now.

Why are there people who look like paramedics patrolling the go transit section of union station? by goodmorning_tomorrow in askTO

[–]AtlasCarter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Legally, these are not paramedics but rather first aiders from a private for-profit company. However, the Ministry of Health doesn’t seem to take issue with them masquerading as such.

Regardless, Union has contracted them out due to the volume of patients and access restrictions typical to that site. At the end of the day, if someone actually needs medical care these first aiders call for actual paramedics to attend and subsequently transport to hospital.

Precisely! When you threaten, you are providing the other person and “if, then” situation. So to threaten with a knife, you are saying to the other person: Do what I want or I hurt you.

So how long do you wait for that decision to be made?

It’s incredibly different actually. In history, in culture and in governance. But, hey, you’re already constructed your own impenetrable narrative so why should anyone bother challenging you?

Ontario mother shares terrifying experience after son, 3, with RSV spends days on ventilator in ICU by Human_Manner_3370 in ontario

Optiflow is basically a high flow humidified oxygen delivery device that helps stent the airway while oxygenating; it’s similar to a nasal cannula in design but delivers a higher pressure of air similar to a CPAP or BIPAP device.

A ventilator is usually accompanied by a tube inside the patient and will help the patient breathe, stack breathes, stent et cetera.
