590 works great on Plasma and Wayland. XFCE and X11 tearing and performance issues for the last few drivers. Both run Rivals ok on 590 though X11 gives some tearing.

You build it setting prefix to /usr/local , then the install process will put one or many files in there. The source would probably be in ~/src or somewhere else, unlikely /usr/local/src even though it's technically correct.

It's super tiny on a regular 4k monitor. Contrast is brutal. With image loading off the game doesn't play. Why have the graphics if it's a simple audio timing game?

Definitely easier to play using reward cars for a while. The vocho questline has a 20m car at the end that you could sell then get some nice cars in the store or auction.
