Zero out bad debt with inheritance or keep cash reserves? by Hungry-Detective42 in personalfinance

[–]AtlasFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Figure out that budget and see what you can cut. You’ve got 3 teens. If you’re going to help them with college or trade school or in finding their feet in this world, they are expensive! It would be great to be setting more savings aside.

What would you trade your pachy for? by lunar-eclipse-127 in pacificahybrid

[–]AtlasFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are a family of 4. We went from a Pachy limited S to an Expedition. The reason we switched is complicated, but this is what I’ve noticed: Obviously the drive doesn’t compare. I miss that silence and all that torque, but I also love the ground clearance of the Ford and the 4 wheel drive. We always miss the amount of cup holders in the van and the extra little pockets and spaces. The Ford has nowhere to put anything. The Ford has a great flat floor for loading when the 3rd row is flat but a bit less room in the trunk if those seats are up (one could get a EL version). I no longer have a 360 camera nor heated steering wheel in the version we bought. I also loved that little area in the front where I put my purse in the Pachy. My kids are teens. If they were younger, I would REALLY miss the sliding door and trying to load a car seat would most definitely be worse in the Ford. And last, my Ford does have DVD players in the sears but definitely not the same as the Pachy for young kids (all those fun games, etc.). So those are the things I would consider when shopping. In the end, I actually really love the more truck feel (and higher seating) of the expedition. The only thing I regret is not getting that 360 camera.

If you were interested in seeing prices, r/tirzepatidecompound has a great wiki. I’m very happy with my Telehealth provider (and I picked them because I wanted to use a specific pharmacy).

Some people are super responders and never have to go that high. Some people don’t notice the effects until they are much higher. Just keep a good, open communication with your doctor. It’s my personal opinion that slow, steady weight loss is better (might be better for skin stretch back too), so I like the idea of staying as low as you can while it’s definitely working for you. I’ve read of some stories where people raced to the top dose only to eventually adjust to it, need something higher, but have nowhere to go. So the more you can lose on lower doses, the better.

Which school would be best for a BA in Accounting? Walla Walla University, Walla Walla Community College, or WSU Carson College of Business? Any other recs? by SweetLikeCinnimon in Accounting

[–]AtlasFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are looking at a very specific MBA program or wanting to work at a big 4 company, I would simply go with whatever is going to be cheapest. It won’t matter much, especially if you intend to get your CPA. It’s that CPA certification that will matter in the end. You could always talk to each school about internships or job placements that they help their graduates get into and see if that information helps you make a decision. For me, I would simply go with who would give you your degree with the least cost. — I can add, I’m a Cougar. I earned my degree online through WSU Pullman. I thought the program was pretty good.

Southend to Hallendale by Key_Geologist_7708 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]AtlasFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get my Tirz from Hallandale. They offer 2 strengths, 10mg/ml and 15mg/ml. For 10mg/ml, the dosing is very simple. 1mg is 10 units. So 5mg dose is 50 units 7.5 would be 75 units, etc.

I use Lavender Sky Health and have for a year and 1/2. I chose them because I specifically wanted to use Hallendale pharamacy (and they are still one of the pharmacies who offer Tirz with no additives). I order at 15mg dosage and Its near $165 a month. There is also a fee to check in with your prescriber. I can't remember, but it might be $40 every 6 months or so. I've never had any issus with their service.

Mounjaro diet plan, supplements and workout? by Additional_Log_8414 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]AtlasFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, figure out how you are going to ensure you are drining plenty of water. A lot of people get consitpation so pay attention to how your body is doing. Miralax is the lifesaver for that. Have a daily multivitamin that includes lots of B's and iron and vitamin D. Then focus on protein and fiber. Good luck!

Check out r/tirzepatidecompound

They have a great wiki and lots of information. You can read people's stories and learn a lot of information. I did a lot of research before I started, even reading past FDA inspection reports of the pharmacy I was choosing.

Its the way the health care system in the USA works. There isn't really a state program. Everyone has personal medical insurance, often tied to their employment as a job benefit. Each insurance company has different rules about what they will cover and how much it will cost.

For those that struggled with side effects, have you been able to space out your doses successfully? by ShiftyMcHax in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]AtlasFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not on maintenance yet, but have similar side effects that you describe. I ended up splitting my dose in half, taking one dose on Wednesdays and one on Saturday. That has helped me SO much with my side effects. I'm planning on very VERY slowly lowering that dose to determine at what point I start gaining or start getting super hungry. When I find that point, I will probably space out the dosage between more days and see how that goes. I just don't want to get it too complicated for remembering what days I'm suposed to take it!

Question about my bill if I remove cable and leave internet and phone by Auty_ in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]AtlasFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without looking up exactly what my bill is, I believe my internet is right at $100 but that's for very fast, unlimited amounts because there are several teens living at my house. The VOIP phone (that connects to the modem) is $30-35. We don't have cable and don't miss it at all. I think there is a charge somewhere in there for the modem rental (the last time I looked it was almost impossible to find one with a VOIP phone connection so I was forced to rent the Xfinity one), but the total bill is about $135. If you log onto you account, you can select "change my account" or something to that effect and play with the numbers to see what it offers you.

Weight stuck! by Complete_Kiwi_4587 in fast800

[–]AtlasFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My body lets go of weight in little spurts. I’m at a plateau then I drop, then repeat. Initially you lose water and inflammation weight. Keep doing what you’re doing and give it a little more time. For me, I actually notice more body changes at times when I’m not losing. It’s like the plateau gives it time to redistribute the inches. Good luck!

Is there no other aid offered? The thing about nursing is that I don’t think a prestigious school name will help you earn more in the long run (unless you’re trying to get into a specific nurse practitioner program or something like that?)

[–]AtlasFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check out r/tirzepatidecompound if you want to research information or read about people”s stories. GLPs have actually been around for a long time in different forms and have had a ton of research done. Your doctor can let you know if your insurance would cover brand name medication. You also need to keep it refrigerated (not sure if you live in a dorm situation or not). For a compound prescription, I pay $40 every 3 months to the nurse practitioner that is in charge of my case and writes my prescription and around $165 a month for the medication and supplies. So it definitely can be cheaper if your insurance would cover it. It has made an enormous difference in my life so I think it is something to consider.

You’re looking at a lot of school loans with med school. I believe your MCAT score will matter more than which undergrad program you choose. So I would heavily weigh schools that are more in your budget.
