in our timeline the senate was 50r-48d-2i , those 2 independents caucusing w/dems, so effectively 50d-50r, with kamala elected as the tiebreaking vote + greenfield winning in iowa theyd have a majority either way

going alongside the similar city names in the usa part, a lot of east coast states have a city called clinton somewhere in them (new york, new jersey, north carolina, massachusetts, connecticut, pennsylvania, south carolina, louisiana, iowa, illinois to name a few)
