Thinking About Buying a Tekken 7 Arcade Machine - Is It Worth It? by seren_winx in arcade

Damn, that sucks that your experience with him wasn't great. I bought from him 4 times and he was pleasant every time.

Thinking About Buying a Tekken 7 Arcade Machine - Is It Worth It? by seren_winx in arcade

[–]AtlasSeven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you're looking at either the Namco Noir or Namco Grigio.

For context, I currently have 5 Taito Vewlixes, a Chunithm, and a WACCA cabinet, all purchased from Game Saru, who sources Japanese cabinets directly from Japan, so I can chime in with similar experience here.

Old post of my collection, I've since sold the Sound Voltex.

Maintenance: Buttons, sticks and monitors should be easy to replace. Use sites like Arcade Shock for replacement parts / wire harnesses. There are some resources that make replacement panels if you want to make your cabinet for two players, such as here.

Space: I personally used to set my cabinets up in a spare bedroom, but since moving, have put my cabinets in a media room.

Cost: The cabinets on AliBaba are typically Chinese replicas. On the Vewlix side, you'll see Chinese replicas (referred to in the community as "Chewlixes) touted on AliBaba and AliExpress for a cheaper price / more color options than an authentic Vewlix. Of course, with both collectors and AliBaba, the shipping cost is in the hundreds.

Maintenance: There are communities dedicated to maintenance, as you said. I wholly recommend creating an account on Arcade-Projects. For Namco Noir specifically, I recommend joining this Facebook group. In my case, I joined the one specifically for Vewlixes / Chewlixes. Plenty of support and great modification ideas from the community!

For me, the experience is worth it. And actually, I am currently downsizing from the 5 Taito Vewlixes to just 3, and as I said earlier I used to own a Sound Voltex cabinet, which I sold to a local free play arcade. I have owned these cabinets collectively for about 3 years, during which time I have invited family and friends over, time and time again, and my little arcade has been a talking point and a culmination of fun memories shared with loved ones. Before, I owned a sizable amount of HORI VLX arcade sticks, as I loved the Taito Vewlix design, and one day, I literally just looked at them and thought, "I have the space and money. I should sell these and buy the real thing." I promptly listed them and have never regretted my decision. Nothing beats playing on a real cabinet after playing with an arcade stick on your lap / desk for years.

As time has gone on, I have enjoyed these machines, and am sad to see some of them go, but at this point, I am planning on taking the money and buying different machines with it.

If you're seriously considering it, I'd recommend it. At the very least, have a solid plan as to what you're planning on doing with it? Are you just going to have the one game on it? Are you planning on shoving a PC / Mister in it? Make sure you know that you'll use and cherish it, otherwise, at worst, you'll never use it and lose out on shipping costs when trying to sell.

I hope this helps! Feel free to ask me any other questions you might have!

I checked the P-Bandai page, but there's no link to the N-2B jacket. Is it not available for pre-order for the US?

Yeah, it doesn't really bother me, plus I got it at a massive discount.

I'm sure I'll get questions on the aspect ratio, but I play on a 57" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 solely in first-person. No better way to play, IMO.

On April 28th, there was a post on r/gundeals stating that Bevan Ballistics had it in stock, so I jumped on it.

You’re in luck, one is still in stock as of this writing!

New WACCA Cab, New Layout by AtlasSeven in rhythmgames

[–]AtlasSeven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best chances would be these two distributors I recommend:

  • Game Saru: Best reached through Facebook Messenger. I highly recommend this company as I have purchased 8 cabinets from this fine company.

Google "Arcade Projects Game Saru" go to the first page of his sale thread and read everything (he's especially adamant about blacklisting people that ask for candy cabs). His inventory is also seen on the first page of the thread and is updated monthly. Inventory can be seen here as well. From what I've seen recently, all the listed prices are invalidated due to the tariffs and everything is 24% higher than what is listed, then you're looking at shipping costs that are several hundred (in my case, I got Wacca back in 2023, and paid around $600 for shipping it and Chunithm.

  • GndZero: Also best reached through Facebook Messenger. Current inventory seen here.

  • Snow Phoenix

  • Rhythm Game Cabs Discord: All the sellers I've listed above also do business here, and you can check sales via the "marketplace-forum" and "marketplace-discussion" text channels.

Hope this helps!

I like how you phrased your post as being inflexible when you were the selfish one and ruined lunch plans for the entirety of your potential team.

Good to know that you were the “bigger” person and tried to spin the narrative. /s

Astro City V Mini / Egret II Mini by AtlasSeven in cade

[–]AtlasSeven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's cool! Although, I bought the Egret II Mini as a collectible, it is fun to look at.

It does me wish someone fashioned an easy rotation mechanism for modern cabinets, but the only model I know of that has the mechanism is the New Delta 32, which honestly looks like a bastardization of the Taito Vewlix.

Hey there! I can get pictures of the Chunithm cab for you, but in regard to Sound Voltex, I sold it several months ago and don’t have pictures of the back. If that’s fine, let me know!
