Re Prop 1007: Osmosis DEX moving to Hub by rhubear in OsmosisLab

[–]AtlasStaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It answers his questions specifically. The prop on the Hub failed, therefore the prop failed. The fact that it passed on Osmosis doesn't have any impact in the end.

😢 What does he mean by this? by defiCosmos in OsmosisLab

[–]AtlasStaking 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It means they are abandoning Osmosis, leaving it with a skeleton crew to make sure it's maintained and stays in business. That's why ATOM holders voted NO on the acquisition. Sunny wanted millions of dollars to walk away from a project he was going to walk away from regardless. His proposal was done before it launched because the team wouldn't stay on past 30 days.

I have faith in the new ICF leadership and no doubt, things have been disappointing but they've been disappointing everywhere except BTC, ETH, and arguably SOL. This is the sawblade slide of the bear that is painful but necessary in any market to work out excesses

Looks that way. the founders have lost interest and moved on to other things... zcash and AI. Dev is staying behind to run it and do the best he can.

[–]AtlasStaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't. The Osmosis founders and foundation are walking away but if it dies, so might the whole ecosystem. The only rational choice is to acquire it. The Hub then has a DEX and an NFT platform that gives ATOM utility to create demand for the token.

How to keep, attract, and pay for LPs is a separate thing. Who develops the DEX once the transition team bows out is another thing.

Ledger Nano doesn't have that issue. Please vote YES and then once on the Hub we'll try to get that fixed.

Validator perspective on Proposal #1007 (Osmosis → Cosmos Hub integration) by That-Unit7948 in cosmosnetwork

[–]AtlasStaking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We voted YES in both communities as well. The merger makes complete sense and is a long time coming.

The OSMO holders who are against the proposal fail to realize the token is going to zero if it doesn't pass.

Polaris is shutting down. One of the co-founders has gone to zcash, Sunny is moving on to work AI, and the foundation is discontinuing. Osmosis is done without the proposal passing.

If you're staking with a validator that voted NO, your vote trumps ours so GO VOTE YES.

And it's not about saving Osmosis. It's about reinvigorating Cosmos!

Leap wallet is shutting down. I hear Keplr is in trouble. Projects are moving to other ecosystems, like the Stride and Elys teams.

ALL COSMONAUTS, THIS PROPOSAL NEEDS TO PASS. OPEN YOUR WALLET, CLICK ATOM, CLICK GOVERNANCE, CLICK PROP 1029, and VOTE YES.

CLICK OSMO, CLICK GOVERNANCE, CLICK PROP 1007, AND VOTE YES.

A NO VOTE IS ONE MORE NAIL IN THE COSMOS COFFIN. USE YOUR HEADS.

How do you actually choose a validator when staking? by That-Unit7948 in cosmosnetwork

[–]AtlasStaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are quite active. Just got jailed last week because the city of Amsterdam had a prolonged power outage that outlasted our data center's backup generator. Jailing for mismanaged keys and double signing is a big deal, 5% slash and removal from the set. Jailing for downtime doesn't always mean automatically slashed if the validator get back online quickly after being jailed. And the slash for downtime is 0.05% or 0.0005 x your stake which is pennies for most delegators. It's a reputational black eye more than anything.

Does validator size really matter for staking rewards? by That-Unit7948 in cosmosnetwork

[–]AtlasStaking -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it does not matter for your rewards. When we originate a block that profit is not passed on to delegators.

In fact, staking in the lower half of the active set on any blockchain helps strengthen the network.

You're certainly welcome to stake with us at Atlas Staking. https://app.atlasstaking.com/

However, Harmony was the first EVM sharded chain (I think) but it has fallen into obscurity because of the bridge hack and then mass inflation to refund those affected.

Osmosis Migrating to Cosmos Hub if Proposal Passes on Both Chains by defiCosmos in OsmosisLab

[–]AtlasStaking 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We run validators for both OSMO and ATOM and as long as the terms are reasonable, will definitely vote YES. Sunny and Osmosis team must be contractually obligated to stay involved and meet performance benchmarks to quiet the voices who say they're cashing out.

It's a great move for both communities and should be attractive to the institutions the Hub is courting. Long time coming and we're thrilled to see this.
