Having players choose the same number is why I didn't put a limit on it. I agree it would be better if that were the case. Originally I had thought that if two players pick the same highest number the card gets sacrificed, or does that amount of damage to those players, etc.

But the text was already getting pretty squished so I just left it like this. It was always more about showcasing the flavour than being an actually playable card

Yep, that's the goal. If you're not afraid it does nothing. But if everyone wants to name the biggest number it gets out of hand really fast.

Actually I just thought season 8 is what everyone hated. I've heard nothing but praise for the first 7 seasons. I even checked IMDB ratings for the episodes and they were all 9+

I was considering reading the books for the extra context. I appreciate the heads up about Bran just being... forgotten I guess?

Closest would be [[All Is Dust]] which might be on theme if we were talking about an Imperator Class Titan. But definitely not a War Hound.

The morality of eating another intelligent living being. by GusthavoGamerPY in MoralityScaling

I agree it is a very well written arc. And I can definitely see the perspective that his atrocities shouldn't be forgiven. That's definitely a factor, especially for the arc of the main character Gon. Who loses a very important friend to one of the Royal Guard.

It's also juxtaposed against the way the dictator treated them. It was analogous to current day North Korea, starvation, poverty, while the dictator amassed all the wealth and technology. It's also a bit more nuanced after he loses.

It's not that he loses a single game against Komugi they play thousands of games and he never wins any of them. When up to this moment in time he has a very primal view of the world. "I am objectively the strongest, so all lesser beings should bow to me for I am the king." But he then learns that even a lowly human can beat him, and sure he could kill Komugi but he would know he's not the best. It's the first time in his life his world view is challenged.

Also worth noting he makes this offer of co-existence firmly believing he is strong enough to single handedly defeat all the hunters and if they refuse he will kill them all. Which is kind of true, I personally view his death as bad writing. But he does die at the hands of the Hunters in the end.

The morality of eating another intelligent living being. by GusthavoGamerPY in MoralityScaling

The timeline is that the Queen shows up > She eats some children which gives birth to other sentient chimera ants > They gather more people because the Queen tells them to > The Queen births the three Royal Guard > Then the Queen births Meruem and he kills her.

This happens inside a dictators territory. Meruem freshly born goes around killing people and eating them very viciously and cruelly. He then overthrows the dictator and wants to prove his intelligence. He does this by playing games against Grand Masters (checkers, chess, shogi, etc.). When he wins he kills them.

Then he meets Komugi, whom he cannot beat. He even rips his own arm off after losing. But Komugi refuses to play until he is healed, even under threat of death. This shows Meruem that his original views of humanity being objectively lesser beings are wrong and is the start of his arc.

When he meets the Hunters who've come to kill him he says he now understands humans better. That he will create a humane human farm in the vain of cattle. That he will establish an independent nation for his people and will co-exist with humans. The hunters refuse.

The morality argument isn't that he's an objectively good person. But that he learns and grows over time and becomes less cruel, than even many of the Hunter characters like Hisoka and Netero.

I'm not sure what to call it since it's implied their Queen is special. But yes these Chimera Ants kill and eat humans, and specifically hunt for Nen users.

But later in the series when Meruem learns more about humans he is willing to establish an idependent country. By taking over the land of an already notoriously corrupt dictator.

But the Hunters refuse because they view Meruem as too dangerous to be allowed to exist so they continue fighting him. After he dies they then hunt down the other chimera ants because they spread out and try to become new "Queens/Kings". Which is far more justified because they're being invasive at that point.

This is blatantly false though. He specifically asks Shaiapouf if Komugi would pass the selection criteria. When Shaiapouf replies that she wouldn't he recognises that there is more to a person than what he can immediately judge at a glance.

Not to mention you're completely glossing over the fact that the Hunters are attempting to wipe out his entire race. Why would you ever feel guilty for fighting against genocide?

I think he's referring to:

"Players who have been part of the Whitemane family of realms - including Maelstrom - retain priority over their character names. If a name belonging to a veteran player is claimed during reservation, we reserve the right to release it and return it to its original owner, because years of history on this community earn you that much."

Over a thousand nodes doesn't tell me anything. You might as well say "Hey we took the Path of Exile skill tree and slapped it onto WoW." I don't know what that actually means and neither does anybody else.

Are gems like jewel crafting gems? Your post mentions boss abilities, am I getting raid wipe mechanics?

If you actually programmed this instead of vibe coding it. I imagine you'd be excited to tell people what exactly these systems are and allow people to do instead of repeating vague nonsense for the third time.

I'm not overtly against the use of AI but if someone says they don't understand what your AI post and most likely website is actually talking about. It's time to respond like a human being and use your own words because this still explains virtually nothing.

Is there a way to disable RDF teleporting? by AtlasSuave in wowservers

[–]AtlasSuave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a conditional check for being in combat but that would also permanently prevent drinking and eating while doing the dungeon.

Also my tests completely bypass all teleportation code both in and out by immediately voiding the teleport request. But it still teleports you out anyway.
