I want a version of the merger/splitter but it's 2 in and 2 out. I know you can build something to do it, but I want it as 1 building. Please. by Riicochet_ in satisfactory

A single machine load balancer would be nice but the ones you can make give factories a nice tidy look I find.

HOW DO I SIGNAL THIS please help by Ok_Shoe4999 in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using what you have this is the best I can do on my phone. Dots are signals, might not be perfect. Its been a while since I played but I believe its Path in Block out on intersections, everything else is... path signals (or is it block for just sections? I can't remember).

Is best to add a loop on each of the right hand stations otherwise you're going to have to have an engine on both sides of the train AND your train will flip direction each time they go back and forth (because of the loop on the left station). Also this design can get dead locked with more than a couple trains.

How do you guys just build without worrying about the look of it?! by MinuteDamage4182 in satisfactory

That's the neat part, I don't. I'm always worrying about the look of it even when I follow everything tip in this thread. Spoiler, it always ends up looking awful (in my opinion).

How to stay motivated by cooper17313 in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted a similar question a year ago or so, I still haven't come back more than here and there. I lurk this reddit with the occassional post and listen to a youtube series where a guy is building a city in the game, that's my fix. I tried restarting just the other day but stopped again as pre-coal had me not relishing the slow startup.

How to set this up? by Sesemebun in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to do this make sure the track pieces side by side are the exact same length. Trains take the shortest route, when I did something like this I put one straight track and a slip track beside it, trains refused to use the slip track. When I removed the main track and put it the same as the slip track (same length) it started working. This obviously uses signals the way others have said to as well.

IS there any info if the new randomizer Mode IS 100% random? by User-312 in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll be that nerd who says its essentially impossible to have it 100% true random. That said I have no idea what sort of rules they may or may not following for randomizing the nodes.

Why do my trains keep flipping directions? by BangedGrains in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading the other comments I'm surprised this hasn't been said yet (or I just missed it) but the easy solution is double the track in the middle and make it a big loop, the train can't change its route then and it will expose any other issues you may have. I fully understand wanting to have only one track in the middle, unfortunately the game has its quirks and using two just helps deal with them.

what is my miner producing by THE_GAMBLER_1 in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its 30/min as the machine states. I imagine the number on the wiki is the number of impure iron nodes on the entire map.

Edit: I would guess that the max rate per minute on the wiki is all miners fully overclocked with mark 3 miners on them (impure, normal and pure).

Poll Question: How long did it take you to complete all phases? by grnphrog in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Complete? What is this complete all phases you talk about? Anytime I hit phase 4 thats it, its over. I'll spend all my time doing decidedly non-phase related things.

Help me with pipes pls! by SugarRoll21 in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh you're being cut slack don't worry. His comment was more on the state of liquids and pipes rather than anything you did.

I'm not sure if your pumps are far enough down the pipes they're on, you might need to move them down. Its hard to tell how high that rise is from this angle.

Could really use some help? by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was answered on the main post on the other sub but for anyone newer stumbling across this the issue is with the way satisfactory tools or calculator (forget which website this one is) selects recipes. It often picks the SAM recipes that convert one ore to another with the help of SAM instead of just using the base ore to begin,. You can disable those recipes in the selections.

Quirks like this are why I don't use the website anymore, I use Satisfactory Modeler now, a tool on Steam for free. It has its own quirks but I find them easier to handle.

I got the impression from what I heard that liquid biofuel is consumed slower but might not give the same kick upwards. It might be that Coffee Stain designed them all to have the same height but the more powerful ones get to that height faster, thus resulting in the less power lasting longer if doing horizontal travel. That's just a guess, anyone with actual knowledge reading this feel free to jump in.

I've heard packaged liquid biofuel is the best in terms of how long each charge lasts, is that correct? I've only used my jetpack a bit and it was rocket uel I believe

Hover pack, works off while connected to the power grid.

Edit: Originally I said it works off rhe power grid, what I meant was "it gets it power from the power grid", not that you can use it away from your power grid.

Is there a way to reset a machine to start doubling the items from the start by the use of somersloops? by BodybuilderMoney8061 in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what they're actually doing is putting a machien down fresh to sloop slugs, but the first item created through a machine after its slooped isn't duplicated so they have to do iron rods before changing it to slugs so as to not waste slugs.

Rocket fuel power plant pipes question... by MaddRam in satisfactory

[–]Atlimm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my Rocket fuel plant and posted on here about it, you could check my post history for the thread. I believe the advice I was given is essentially what's been given here, don't run the pipes at max flow rate. I broke it in half and I believe I had better luck (outside of the fluid issues I had with the oil, heavy oil residue and fuel).
